Endothermic reaction absorbs heat and an exothermic reaction releases heat. After Jonas mixes citric acid with baking soda, heat is required to start the reaction. Therefore it is an endothermic reaction and not an exothermic one. Endothermic reactions do not start spontaneously they need heat to start the reaction.

gogolik [260]

Answer:

Option B. At pH extremes, the amino acid molecules mostly carry a net charge, thus increasing their solubility in polar solvent.

What type of stress results when two plates push against one another?
Natasha2012 [34]

When two plates push against each other shear stress will happem because they move in opposite directions. In this case the force of the stress pushes some of the crust in different directions. When this happens, a large part of the crust can break off, which makes the plate size smaller.

What would happen if this cell were moved from pure water to a seawater solution?
Reika [66]
The cell would swell and burst, because the 20% salt solution is hypotonic with respect to the cell, causing a net movement of water into the cell. Example, water moves from the blood filtrate that will form urine. The same will do while pure water moved to seawater.
