Assume the population of a large city like New York City is about 4 × 10^6 people, with about 1.97 people per household. Approxi

mately 1 household in 16.1 has a piano. The piano keyboard has about 64 notes (8 octaves) with about 2 strings per note. A piano should be tuned once per year (365.25 days). A piano tuner can tune about 3 pianos per day. And, finally, pianos tuners work 250 days per year. How many pianos tuners are there in New York City?

So here are the given information:

4 x 10^6 people

1.97 people = 1 household

16.1 households = 1 piano

1 piano = 1 tuning/year

1 tuner = 3 tunings/working day

<span>1 year = 250  working days </span>

Multiplying everything:

4 x 10^6 people x (1 household/1.97 people) x (1 piano/16.1 households) = 126115.33 pianos in NYC

126115.33 pianos x (1 (tuning/year)/1 piano) x (1 year/250 working days) x (1 working day/3 pianos/tuner) = 168.15 tuners

<span>Therefore about 168 piano tuners in NYC.</span>

The Southwest Indian Ridge, shown in red, moves at an average rate of 20 mm/year, making it among the ultraslow spreading ridges
blagie [28]

v = average speed of movement of the Southwest Indian Ridge = 20 mm/year

d = distance moved by the Southwest Indian Ridge = 100 mm

t = number of years required to move distance "d"

distance traveled is given as

d = v t

inserting the above values in the formula

100 mm = (20 mm/year) t

dividing both side by 20 mm/year

t = 100 mm/(20 mm/year)

t = 5 years

Does this curved graph show a function explain how you know
pochemuha

Answer:

No; the graph fails the vertical line test.

The vertical line test is a tool used to determine if we have a function. If we can draw a single straight vertical line through more than one point on the red curve, then the graph is said to have failed the vertical line test. Consequently, this leads to the relation not being a function.

For this circle graph, we can draw a vertical line through more than one point, which is why we don't have a function here.

Put another way, there are inputs (x) that produce more than one output (y), so that's why we don't have a function.

Scientists are constantly exploring the universe, looking for new planets that support life similar to the life on
Molodets [167]
The answer would be “B” because humans would need water, protection from radiation so we don’t melt or burn to death lol, and a gaseous atmosphere because we would need oxygen.

. If measurements of a gas are 75L and 300 kilopascals and then the gas is measured a second time and found to be 50L, describe
julia-pushkina [17]
By Boyle's law:

P₁V₁ = P₂V₂

300*75 = P<span>₂*50

</span>P<span>₂*50= 300*75
</span>
P<span>₂ = 300*75/50 = 450
</span>
P<span>₂ = 450 kiloPascals.

The pressure has increased as a result of compression of gas.

Boyle's Law supports this observation.</span>
