Describe the difference between a reaction that occurs spontaneously and one that does not
lidiya [134]
2.B. Describe the difference between a reaction that occurs spontaneously and one that does not. Spontaneous chemical reactions release energy and use that energy to power itself; non-spontaneous chemical reactions need to absorb energy, which they can't absorb their own energy that they don't even have.

What is the electron configuration for<br> 08<br> 16
Elis [28]

The electron configuration for Oxygen : [He] 2s²2p⁴

<h3>Further explanation</h3>

Writing electron configurations starts from the lowest to the highest sub-shell energy level. There are 4 sub-shells in the shell of an atom, namely s, p, d, and f. The maximum number of electrons for each sub-shell is

• s: 2 electrons

• p: 6 electrons

• d: 10 electrons and

• f: 14 electrons

Charging electrons in the sub-shell uses the following sequence:

<em>1s², 2s², 2p⁶, 3s², 3p⁶, 4s², 3d¹⁰, 4p⁶, 5s², 4d¹⁰, 5p⁶, 6s², etc.  </em>

The element is Oxgen, with symbol O, and :

the atomic number=8=number of electron

the atomic mass=16

The electron configuration based on the number of electrons(for Oxygen=8), so the configuration :

\tt _8^{16}O:1s^22s^22p^4 or we can write with noble gas [He] 2s²2p⁴

Archeologists can determine the age of artifacts made of wood or bone by measuring the amount of the radioactive isotope 14C pre
Ahat [919]

Answer: The age of the tool is 15539 years

Explanation:

Expression for rate law for first order kinetics is given by:

t=\frac{2.303}{k}\log\frac{a}{a-x}

where,

k = rate constant

t = age of sample

a = let initial amount of the reactant = 100

a - x = amount left after decay process = \frac{15.5}{100}\times 100=15.5

a) for completion of half life:

Half life is the amount of time taken by a radioactive material to decay to half of its original value.

t_{\frac{1}{2}}=\frac{0.693}{k}

k=\frac{0.693}{5730yr}=0.00012yr^{-1}

b) for 15.5 % of original amount

t=\frac{2.303}{0.00012}\log\frac{100}{15.5}

t=15539years

Thus age of the tool is 15539 years
