You would take out a 4x out of both terms because this is a common factor
4x^3-36x
4x(x^2-9)
and then you would notice that (x^2-9) is a difference of squares, so that factors out too
4x(x-3)(x+3)
that is all you can factor! hope this helps

The factor of this is 4x(x^2-9)
then x^2-9 can be factored using sum and difference.
4x(x+3)(x-3)

Which function does not have a vertical asymptote? A) y=(x) /(1-x²) . B) y=(5x) /(1-2x²) . C) y=(5x-1) /(3+x^2) . D) (5x) /(x+x²
uysha [10]

A function has a vertical asymptote x=a at point a, where the denominator becomes equal to 0.

A. The denominator of the function f(x)=\dfrac{x}{1-x^2} turns into 0 at x=1 or x=-1. Then x=1 and x=-1 are two vertical asymptotes of this function.

B. The denominator of the function f(x)=\dfrac{5x}{1-2x^2} turns into 0 at x=\sqrt{\frac{1}{2}} or x=-\sqrt{\frac{1}{2}}  Then x=\sqrt{\frac{1}{2}}  and x=-\sqrt{\frac{1}{2}}  are two vertical asymptotes of this function.

C. The denominator of the function f(x)=\dfrac{5x-1}{3+x^2} never turns into 0, then this function hasn't any asymptotes.

D. The denominator of the function f(x)=\dfrac{x}{x+x^2} turns into 0 at x=0. Then x=0 is vertical asymptote of this function.

Answer: correct choice is C.

Suzanne bought 50 apples at the apple orchard. She bought 4 times as many red apples as green apples. How many more red apples t
Natali [406]
Let x = the number of green apples, let 4x = the number of red apples
4x + x = 50         Set up the quation
5x = 50               Combine like terms
----   ----               Divide by 5 on both sides to get x alone
5      5
x = 10 green apples
4x = 4(10) = 40 red apples

40 - 10 = 30. Suzanne bought 30 more red apples than green apples.

The sum of 9/26 and -4/13 is ____
kicyunya [14]

Answer:

1/26

Step-by-step explanation:

-4/13 is equivalent to -8/26. Since 9/26 and -8/26 have the same denominator, you can add together the numerator to get the numerator of the final answer. 9-8 is 1, so your answer is 1/26.
