You would take out a 4x out of both terms because this is a common factor
4x^3-36x
4x(x^2-9)
and then you would notice that (x^2-9) is a difference of squares, so that factors out too
4x(x-3)(x+3)
that is all you can factor! hope this helps

The factor of this is 4x(x^2-9)
then x^2-9 can be factored using sum and difference.
4x(x+3)(x-3)

Answer:

214°

Step-by-step explanation:

Full circle measure = 360°

Measure of arc AB = 146° (central angle has the same measure as measure of intercepted arc)

Therefore:

Measure of arc ACB = 360° - arc AB

Measure of arc ACB = 360° - 146°

= 214°

Need help answering this problem
klasskru [66]

Answer:

(a) Local Maximum (x,y) = (0,12)

    Local Minimum (x,y) = (-9,6) (smaller x-value)

    Local Minimum (x,y) = (6,3) (Larger x-value)

(b) Increasing = (-9,0)\cup (6,\infty)

    Decreasing = (\infty,-9)\cup (0,6)

Step-by-step explanation:

(a)

Local Maximum: The function gives maximum value in small neighborhood.

From the given graph it is clear that the maximum value of the function is 12 at x=0. So,

Local Maximum (x,y) = (0,12)

Local Minimum: The function gives minimum value in small neighborhood.

It is clear that the minimum value of the function is -6 and 3 at x=-9 and x=6. So,

Local Minimum (x,y) = (-9,6) (smaller x-value)

Local Minimum (x,y) = (6,3) (Larger x-value)

(b)

The function is increasing on -9<x<0 and after 6.

Increasing = (-9,0)\cup (6,\infty)

The function is decreasing on 0<x<6 and before -9.

Decreasing = (\infty,-9)\cup (0,6)

Answer:

  • 2 and 5

Step-by-step explanation:

<u>Solving in steps</u>

  • x^2(x - 1)(x - 4) - 2x^3 = -6x^2, x > 0
  • x^2(x^2 - 5x + 4) -2x^3 + 6x^2 = 0
  • x^4 - 5x^3 + 4x^2 - 2x^3 + 6x^2 = 0
  • x^4 - 7 x^3 + 10x^2 = 0
  • x^2 - 7x + 10 = 0
  • x^2 - 2x - 5x + 10 = 0
  • x(x - 2) - 5(x - 2) = 0
  • (x - 2)( x - 5) = 0
  1. x - 2 = 0 ⇒ x = 2
  2. x - 5 = 0 ⇒ x = 5

The fomula for the surface area, S, of a cylinder, is S = 2nr2 2nrh, where his the height of the cylinder, and r is the radius o
Kruka [31]

Answer:

S = 2πr² + 2πrh = 2πr(r + h)

Step-by-step explanation:

The formula for the surface area of a cylinder is the sum of the area of the base and the lateral faces.

Mathematically,

surface area = base area + lateral area

A cylinder has 2 base which are circular therefore, the sum of the area of the base is πr² + πr² = 2πr².

The lateral area is the curved surface area of the cylinder which is the multiplication of the height and the circumference .

curved surface area = h × circumference = 2πrh

surface area = 2πr² + 2πrh = 2πr(r + h)

S = 2πr² + 2πrh = 2πr(r + h)

The surface area can be calculated if you know the height of the cylinder and the radius. example r = 5 m and h = 10 m

Using the formula

S = 2πr² + 2πrh = 2πr(r + h)

S= 2 × π × 5(5 + 10)

S = 10π(15)

S = 150π m²

PLEASE HELP<br> Describe the graph of y=1/2x-10 -3 compared to the graph of y=1/x
jek_recluse [69]

Answer:  The graphs are attached.

Step-by-step explanation:  We are to describe the graph of the function y=\dfrac{1}{2x-10}-3 compared to the graph of the function y=\dfrac{1}{x}.

The graphs of both the functions are shown in the attached figure.

We can see that the graph of the function y=\dfrac{1}{2x-10}-3 is stretched by a factor of 0.5, shifted 5 units to the right and 3 units downwards as compared to the graph of the function y=\dfrac{1}{x}.
