I think that the wavelengths of an incoming solar radiation are shorter than the wavelengths of reradiated heat. This is because the incoming solar radiation to the surface of the earth is in the utraviolet (short) to near infrared (long) wavelength bands. After absorption has taken place, surfaces reradiate heat energy back to the atmosphere at long wavelength infrared.

Why is current a scalar quantity?
Nutka1998 [239]
Despite current has a magnitude and a direction, like vectors, it is a scalar because it doesn't obey laws of vector addition. For instance, if we  consider a junction of 90^{\circ} in a circuit, and two currents entering this junction, we know that the resultant current is just the algebraic sum of the two currents, not the vector sum, so it is not a vector quantity.

Why is an iceberg more dense than a ship?
Serhud [2]

Answer:

icebergs float on water because ice is less dense than water. The same is true for a boat: a boat floats on water because, overall, it is less dense than the water.
