240,000 miles / hour² Average acceleration can be calculated by dividing the change in speed by the elapsed time. Since the dragster's speed was 0 when the light turned green, the change in speed is simply 300 mph. Now, divide that by the time: 300 mph / 0.00125 hours = 240,000 miles / hour² By the way, 0.00125 hours is just 4.5 seconds!

Answer:

The acceleration of the dragster is 29.80m/s²

Explanation:

Acceleration is defined as the change in velocity of a body with respect to time.

Acceleration = Change in velocity/Time

Given the velocity = 300miles/hour

Time = 0.00125hours

Converting the time to seconds and velocity to meter/seconds

Since 1hour = 3600seconds

Time = 0.00125×3600

Time = 4.5seconds.

For velocity:

1hour = 3600seconds

1mile = 1609.343m

300miles/hour = (300×1609.343m)/1×3600sec

= 482,803.2m/3600secs

= 134.112m/s

Acceleration in m/s² = 134.112/4.5

Acceleration = 29.80m/s²
