Which rule is used for writing the name of an ionic base?
IgorLugansk [536]

Answer:

The chemical name ends with “hydroxide.”

Explanation:

1- we write the name of the metal first and after that write the nonmetal:

Ex : NaOH ( sodium hydroxide)

2- any compound contains OH group is an ionic base and this group called hydroxide group

3- "Ous" ending is given in the ions with the lower oxidation.

4- " ic" ending is given in the ions with the higher oxidation.

So, the correct answer is: The chemical name ends with “hydroxide.”.

Part 1. A chemist reacted 15.0 liters of F2 gas with NaCl in the laboratory to form Cl2 and NaF. Use the ideal gas law equation
Papessa [141]
Okey so 1st find the moles of F2 which is :

n = 15/22.4 = 0.667mol

Then according to stoichiometric values, F2 and NaCl, they are to a ratio of 1 : 2

So take the twice value of the calculated moles.

Use the moles to find the mass using the equation :

m = n×M

Where m is the mass

n is moles

M is molar mass (of NaCl)

Therefore m = 1.334×57.5

(given the molar mass of Na 22gmol^-1 and CL 35.5gmol^-1)

m = 76.705g

Nitrous acid, HNO 2, is classified as a weak acid in water. This means that it produces
tester [92]

Answer:

C

Explanation:

While some dilute acids are said to be weak, some are said to be strong. Now, the principal basis for this classification is based on the extent of ionization in water.

While strong acids ionize completely to give the maximum number of Oxonium ions, weak acids only ionize to an extent and thus do not give the full needed oxonium ions. Hence , we say they gave only a fraction and we term the ionization partial or incomplete.

Asa weak acid, nitrous acid is expected to ionize slightly and not completely. This makes it produce only a fraction of the expected oxonium ions in water
