A 60-turn coil has a diameter of 13 cm. The coil is placed in a spatially uniform magnetic field of magnitude 0.60 T so that the

face of the coil and the magnetic field are perpendicular. Find the magnitude of the emf induced in the coil (in V) if the magnetic field is reduced to zero uniformly in the following times.
(a) 0.80 S 0.5973V
(b) 8.0 s 5.973 Xv
(c) 70 S 6.838- 3 v

Answer:

a) 0.5985 V

b) 0.05985 V

c) 0.00684 V

Explanation:

Given that

Number of turn in the coil, N = 60 turns

Magnetic field of the coil, B = 0.6 T

Diameter of the coil, d = 0.13 m

If area is given as, πd²/4, then

A = π * 0.13² * 1/4

A = 0.0133 m²

The induced emf, ε = -N(dΦ*m) /dt

Note, Φm = BA

Substituting for Φ, we have

ε = -NBA/t.

Now, we substitute for numbers in the equation

ε = -(60 * 0.6 * 0.0133)/0.8

ε = 0.4788/0.8

ε = 0.5985 V

at 8s,

ε = -(60 * 0.6 * 0.0132)/8

ε = 0.4788/8

ε = 0.05985 V

at 70s

ε = -(60 * 0.6 * 0.0132)/70

ε = 0.4788/70

ε = 0.00684 V

A bag of sugar weighs 3.50 lb on Earth. What would it weigh in newtons on the Moon, where the free-fall acceleration isone-sixth
Alex73 [517]

Answer:

F_{Earth}= 15.57 N

F_{Moon}= 2.60 N

F_{Uranus}= 16.98 N

The mass of the bag is the same on the three planets. m=1.59 kg

Explanation:

The weight of the sugar bag on Earth is:

g=9.81 m/s²

m=3.50 lb=1.59 kg

F_{Earth}=m·g=1.59 kg×9.81 m/s²= 15.57 N

The weight of the sugar bag on the Moon is:

g=9.81 m/s²÷6= 1.635 m/s²

F_{Moon}=m·g=1.59 kg× 1.635 m/s²= 2.60 N

The weight of the sugar bag on the Uranus is:

g=9.81 m/s²×1.09=10.69 m/s²

F_{Uranus}=m·g=1.59 kg×10.69 m/s²= 16.98 N

The mass of the bag is the same on the three planets. m=1.59 kg

Assume that the same amount of current passes through the electromagnets shown. Identify which electromagnet is stronger than th
hodyreva [135]

First electromagnet

Explanation:

The first electromagnet is the strongest and it is stronger than the given electromagnet above.

An electromagnet is a temporary magnet made by passing current through a wire wounded round an iron core or metallic core.

  • When current is passed through, the metal becomes magnetic.
  • The strength of the electromagnet depends on the number of coil round the metal core and also the intensity of current passed through it.
  • The higher the number of coils wounded round the metal core, the stronger the electromagnet that will be produced.
  • Also, the higher the intensity of electricity passed through the wire, the stronger it is.

Answer:

Explanation:

Displacement vector along x axes = 4.5 - 2.5 = 2 m

Displacement vector along y axes = 3 - 2 = 1 m

Displacement vector along z axis = 3.5- 4 = - 0.5 m

Calculate V1 and V2 ( V = voltage )
Kitty [74]

FORMULA:

  • V = IR, where V = P.D; I = Current; R = Resistance.

ANSWER:

Total equivalent resistance for circuit:

R(eq) = R1 + R2 [It is in series]

  • 330Ω + 470Ω
  • 800Ω

Now, Current passing through whole circuit:

I = V/R

  • 16/800
  • 1/50 ampere

We know that, In series combination current passing through whole circuit is same.

So, V¹ = IR¹

V¹ = 1/50 × 330

  • V¹ = 6.6 volt

And V² = IR²

V² = 1/50 × 470

  • V² = 9.4 volt
