 The  concentration  of  hydroxide  ion    in   household  of  ammonia  that  has  a  ph  of  11.50  is  calculated  as follows
as  we   well  know    Ph  +POh=  14

POh  is  therefore=14  -11.50= 2.5

POh  is  calculated  as  follows

POh=  -log(-OH)= 2.5
-OH  concentration  is  therefore   =  10^-2.5 =3.162  x10^-3

Oliga [24]

The change in oxidation number of bromine according to the given redox reaction is; Choice B: -1, 0

According to the question;

  • We are required to determine the change in oxidation number of Bromine in the given redox reaction.

In essence, we must first know that the oxidation state of bromine in HBr is , Br-.

  • As such, it's oxidation state is -1 on the reactants side of the equation.

Additionally, Bromine exists as a molecule on the product side of the equation, where it's oxidation state is zero, 0.

Therefore, the change in oxidation number is; Choice B; -1;0.
