After a parallel-plate capacitor has been fully charged by a battery, the battery is disconnected and the plate separation is in
kati45 [8]

Answer:

C

Explanation:

Using the two formulas q =CV and C =∈A/d where q = charge, C = Capacitance, V =Voltage, ∈=permittivity of dielectric, A = area of plates and d = distance between plates. Increasing the plate separation decreases the Capacitance thereby decreasing the charge also.

an 18 ohm resistor and a 6 ohm resistor are connected in parallel to a battery, and the current in the 18 ohm resistor is found
riadik2000 [5.3K]

With 0.45 amp flowing through an 18-ohm resistor, the voltage across it is

       V  =  I R  =  (0.45) x (18)  =  8.1 volts .

"But I asked for the battery voltage! That's the voltage across the resistor."

The ends of the resistor are connected directly to the battery terminals.
They're the same voltage.

"But what about the 6-ohm resistor ? Where does that figure in ?"

In parallel, it doesn't. It's also connected directly across the battery,
and it has its own current.

In parallel, neither resistor knows or cares whether or not there are
any other resistors present. In parallel, it makes no dif.

A car comes to a bridge during a storm and finds the bridge washed out. The driver must get to the other side, so he decides to
Verizon [17]

Answer:29.41 m/s

Explanation:

Given

Height of cliff 22.8 m

Height of river bank=2.4 m

width of river=60.0 m

Car can considered as projectile

Time travel to cover vertical distance=22.8-2.4=20.4 m

h=ut+\frac{at^2}{2}

20.4=0+\frac{gt^2}{2}

t^2=4.163

t=2.04 s

Range=60 m

Let u be the speed of car

ut=60

u=\frac{60}{2.04}=29.41 m/s

What changes dead plants and animals into ammonia compounds?
lapo4ka [179]

Nitrogen fixing bacteria changes dead plants and animals into ammonia compounds.

What is nitrogen fixation?

Atmospheric nitrogen is converted into nitrogen oxides by the action of lightning, which helps its incorporation into the soil.

Characteristics of Nitrogen fixing bacteria

  • Nitrogen is fixed by these bacteria and other prokaryotes through various metabolic processes, which convert it into different usable compounds, such as ammonia (NH3) and ammonium ion (NH4+).

  • These microorganisms can be found in soil and water, or as plant symbionts.

Therefore, we can conclude that nitrogen fixing bacteria fix nitrogen from the air, that is, they originate soluble compounds by plants, such as ammonia.

What causes interstellar dust and clouds into plants and stars
AnnZ [28]
I assume you mean planets eitherway interstellar dust and clouds have solid material and as well as minerals such as iron and over time solid chuncks start to fuse together and make a planet but with stars however it is different because a star has a little solid core surrounded by gasses (hydrogen and helium) to produce heat in a method called nuclear fusion so interstellar clouds contain gasses as well and solids as I previously said and form a star as well

this is from my understanding
