MgCO_3.CaCO_3 ----\ \textgreater \  Heat---\ \textgreater \    CO_2 + MgO + CaCO_3

Now, question is why MgO but not CaO.

At a dissociation pressure of 1 atm, the temperature at which CO2 and metal oxide is formed is :

For MgCO3 =  540 °C
For CaCO3  =  900 °C”
Also,
The driving force is the larger lattice energy of MgO(3795) vs that of CaO(3414 kJ mol^-1) . More the lattice energy, the more chances of that compound to form.
So MgO is formed first.

Carbonate is Calcium carbonate

Answer:

d. 0.208 M NaOH

Explanation:

M[NaOH] = 23+16+1= 40g/mol

2.40L = 2.4dm3

M=m/Mv

M=20.0g/40g/mol×2.4dm3

M=20.0g ÷ 96

M= 0.208 M NaOH

A sample of 250 g of water are heated from 40°C to 121°C, calculate the amount of heat energy absorbed.
Marysya12 [62]

Answer:

the anwser isn't in the choices

Explanation:

H=MC(change of temp.)

M=mass of water=250g

C=specific heat of water = 4.186 j/g

change in temperature is 121-40= 81

H= 250x4.186x81=84766.5J
