Answer:

False statement: when the hydrogen ion concentration decreases, the hydroxyl ion concentration also decreases

Explanation:

As per the Sorensen pH scale, lesser the pH more the acidic character of the solution.

the pH is calculated as:

pH = -log[H⁺]

so more the [H⁺] concentration, lesser the pH, more the acidic solution.

The concentration of hydrogen ion and hydroxyl  ion is same in a neutral solution.

With the increase in concentration of hydrogen ion the concentration of hydroxyl ion decreases as

[H⁺][OH⁻]=10⁻¹⁴, at 25 °C

So the false statement is when the hydrogen ion concentration decreases, the hydroxyl ion concentration also decreases.

It is true that acid and bases reacts to form water and salt.

The example would be:

NaOH+HCl--->H_{2}O+NaCl

The pH of blood is near 7.4

If a pharmacist adds 10 ml of purified water to 30 ml of a solution having a specific gravity of 1.30, calculate the specific gr
xxMikexx [17]

The specific gravity of a sample is the ratio of the density of the sample with respect to one standard sample. The standard sample used in specific gravity calculation is water whose density is 1 g/mL. The solution having specific gravity 1.30 is the density of the sample that is 1.30 g/mL. Thus the weight of the 30 mL sample is (30×1.30) = 39 g.

Now the mass of the 10 mL of water is 10 g as density of water is 10 g/mL. Thus after addition the total mass of the solution is (39 + 10) = 49g and the volume is (30 + 10) = 40 mL. Thus the density of the mixture will be \frac{49}{40}=1.225 g/mL. Thus the specific gravity of the mixed sample will be 1.225 g/mL.

Why do substances with weak intermolecular forces form solids at low melting points?
Advocard [28]
To make any substance solid, molecules must come very close to each other. Substances with weak intermolecular forces have weak bonding. Hence to make their molecules come close to each other, we must provide low temperature.

according to the third law if a football player hits another player with an action force of 1500n how much will the reaction for
djyliett [7]

Answer:

The reaction would be 1500n (equal reaction)

Explanation:

This can be explained by Newton's third law of motion which states that for every action (force), there is an opposite and equal reaction. In other words, when two objects or people come in contact, the magnitude of force which they exert on each other is equal and they both feel an equal reaction force.

It doesn't matter whether one of the colliding bodies is of bigger mass than the other.  This Newton's third law of motion is also known as the law of action and reaction.
