T(return)=3.5 s

<span>h = vt - (1/2)gt^2 </span>

<span>to the point of release or return h=0 </span>
<span>vt - (1/2)gt^2=0 </span>
<span>t(v - gt/2)=0 ==> </span>
<span>t(release)=0 or v - (1/2)gt(return)=0 ==> </span>
<span>v = (1/2)gt(return) </span>
<span>v=9.81*3.5/2 </span>
<span>v=17.17 m/s

Hope i helped! :)

An advertisement for an all-terrain vehicle (ATV) claims that the ATV can climb inclined slopes of 35°. The minimum coefficient of static friction needed for this claim to be possible is 0.7

In an inclined plane, the coefficient of static friction is the angle at which an object slide over another.

As the angle rises, the gravitational force component surpasses the static friction force, as such, the object begins to slide.

Using the Newton second law;

\sum F_x = \sum F_y = 0

\mathbf{mg sin \theta -f_s= N-mgcos \theta = 0 }

  • So; On the L.H.S

\mathbf{mg sin \theta =f_s}

\mathbf{mg sin \theta =\mu_s N}

  • On the R.H.S

N = mg cos θ

Equating both force component together, we have:

\mathbf{mg sin \theta =\mu_s \ mg \ cos \theta}

\mathbf{sin \theta =\mu_s \ \ cos \theta}

\mathbf{\mu_s = \dfrac{sin \theta }{ cos \theta}}

From trigonometry rule:

\mathbf{tan \theta= \dfrac{sin \theta }{ cos \theta}}

∴

\mathbf{\mu_s =\tan \theta}}

\mathbf{\mu_s =\tan 35^0}}

\mathbf{\mu_s = 0.700}}

Therefore, we can conclude that the minimum coefficient of static friction needed for this claim to be possible is 0.7

A 50.0 kg person is walking horizontally with constant acceleration of 0.25 m/s² inside an elevator. The elevator is also accele
Alexxandr [17]

Answer:

The acceleration is in 2 D as in between east and south.

Explanation:

mass, m = 50 kg

acceleration, a = 0.25 m/s^2 horizontal

acceleration of elevator, a' = 1 m/s^2 downwards

When a person on the ground the resultant acceleration of the person with respect to the ground is between east and south direction so the path os parabolic in nature. It graph is shown below:

Lana wanted to do an investigation to see what kind of birdseed the birds in her neighborhood like best. She purchased three of
Misha Larkins [42]

Answer:

The level of seed in each feeder

Explanation:

The independent variable is the variable which is the suspected cause of an observation, it is the variable that produce the effect observed in the dependent variable. The dependent variable is the variable that is measured

The independent variable is normally the x-value while the dependent variable is the y-value

In the question, Lana wants to find out the kind of birdseed that the neighborhood birds like (to eat) the most by feeding them different types of birdseed and measuring the level of the birdseed in the feeders at regular intervals

the independent variable is the bird seed types which Lana gives to the birds, to determine the type of bird seeds the birds like

The dependent variable is the level of the seed in the feeder which depends on the type of seeds the birds like.
