Hillary is walking to school at 1.3 m/s. She looks at her watch and realizes she is going to be late. She starts to hurry by inc

reasing her rate by 0.090 m/s squared. What is Hillary's speed after 10 seconds?

initial speed by which Hilary is walking = 1.3 m/s

Now the rate of increase in her speed that is her acceleration is given by

a = 0.090 m/s^2

now we need to find her final speed after t = 10 s

so here we can use the kinematics equation in order to find the final speed

v_f = v_i + at

now plug in all data in the above equation

v_f = 1.3 + (0.090 * 10)

v_f = 1.3 + 0.90

v_f = 2.2 m/s

so here the final speed will be 2.2 m/s after she accelerates

Which type(s) of electromagnetic radiation do human bodies emit? Which type(s) can our senses detect?
Andrei [34K]
Our bodies emit heat, and nerve endings in our skin can detect it.
Our eyes can detect visible light, but our bodies don't emit that.

They will be travelling slower than 10mph.
if they were travelling at the same speed then they would stay an equal distance apart.
if they were travelling fatser then they would be getting further away more quickly than Bobby is catching up.
maybe they are travelling at 5mph but I'd say it's a safer option to chose under 10mph

A mountain climber, in the process of crossing between two cliffs by a rope, pauses to rest. She weighs 514 N. As the drawing sh
n200080 [17]

Answer:

Part a)

T_L = 155.4 N

Part b)

T_R = 379 N

Explanation:

As we know that mountain climber is at rest so net force on it must be zero

So we will have force balance in X direction

T_L cos65 = T_R cos80

T_L = 0.41 T_R

now we will have force balance in Y direction

mg = T_L sin65 + T_Rsin80

514 = 0.906T_L + 0.985T_R

Part a)

so from above equations we have

514 = 0.906T_L + 0.985(\frac{T_L}{0.41})

514 = 3.3 T_L

T_L = 155.4 N

Part b)

Now for tension in right string we will have

T_R = \frac{T_L}{0.41}

T_R = 379 N
