Brass can be classified as  \boxed{{\text{a}}{\text{. homogenous mixture and a solid solution}}}.

Further explanation:

Alloy:

An alloy is defined as combination of metals or a combination of one or more metals with non-metals. Alloys have a large range of applications, ranging from surgical tools, aerospace industry to automobile construction. Steel, solder, brass, pewter, bronze, and amalgams are some examples of alloys. Alloys can be either solid solution or a mixture of metallic phases.

Mixture:

The material that is made up of two or more substances is called a mixture. It has no fixed formula, and its composition is also varied. All the individual constituents retain their properties after the formation of the mixture.

<em>Types of mixtures: </em>

1. Homogeneous mixtures

<em>Homogeneous</em> is a Latin word that means the <em>same</em>. These mixtures have a uniform composition throughout. Air, orange juice, and blood are the examples of a homogenous mixture.

2. Heterogeneous mixtures

<em>Heterogeneous</em> is a Latin word that means <em>different</em>. These mixtures that have <em>non-uniform composition</em> throughout. Concrete, soda, and chocolate chip cookies are the examples of a heterogeneous mixture.

Characteristics of mixtures:

1. It has a variable composition and has no formula.

2. Mixtures are not formed by any chemical reactions.

3. Mixtures can be either homogeneous or heterogeneous.

4. The constituents of the mixtures can be separated by physical methods such as filtration, heating, drying, distillation, crystallization.

5. The properties of the individual particles of the mixture are retained even after the formation of mixtures.

Copper and zinc are the two metals that are first melted, mixed and then solidified to form brass. Their composition is the same throughout the whole part of brass. So brass is an example of homogeneous mixture. It is also known as solid solution where zinc acts as solute and copper is a solvent.

Hello!

Brass is a Homogeneous mixture.

Homogeneous mixtures are those in which the components are in the same proportions in all the sample. In brass, as the two metals are fused together to form an alloy, the composition is the same in the entire piece. Brass is also called a Solid Solution. Brass is not a pure substance because it has two different elements in its composition.

A smooth circular hoop with a radius of 0.800 m is placed flat on the floor. A 0.300-kg particle slides around the inside edge o
Marrrta [24]

Answer:

a)11.25 J

b)Number of revolution = 1

Explanation:

Given that

Radius ,r= 0.8 m

m= 0.3 kg

Initial speed ,u= 10 m/s

final speed ,v= 5 m/s

a)

Initial energy

KE_i=\dfrac{1}{2}mu^2

KE_i=\dfrac{1}{2}0.3\times 10^2

KEi= 15 J

Final kinetic energy

KE_f=\dfrac{1}{2}mv^2

KE_f=\dfrac{1}{2}0.3\times 5^2

KEf=3.75 J

The  energy transformed from mechanical to internal = 15 - 3.75 J = 11.25 J

b)

The minimum value to complete the circular arc

 V=\sqrt{r.g}

Now by putting the values

V=\sqrt{0.8\times 10}

V= 2.82 m/s

So kinetic energy KE

KE=\dfrac{1}{2}mV^2

KE=\dfrac{1}{2}0.3\times 2.82^2

KE=1.19 J

ΔKE= KEi - KE

ΔKE= 15- 1.19 J

ΔKE=13.80 J

The minimum energy required to complete 2 revolutions = 2 x 11.25 J

                                                                                                    = 22.5 J

Here 22.5 J is greater than 13.8 J.So the particle will complete only one revolution.

Number of revolution = 1

An object of mass 2.0 kg is attached to the top of a vertical spring that is anchored to the floor. The unstressed length of the
poizon [28]

Answer:

The value is A  =  0.014 \  m

Explanation:

From the question we are told that

    The mass of the object is  m = 2.0 \ kg

    The unstressed length of the string is  l  =  0.08 \  m

    The length of the spring when it is  at equilibrium is  l_e = 5.9 \ cm = 0.059 \ m

      The initial speed (maximum speed)of the spring when given a downward blow v  =  0.30 \  m/s

Generally the maximum speed  of the spring  is mathematically represented as

           u =  A *  w

Here A is maximum height above the floor (i.e the maximum amplitude)

            and w is the angular frequency which is mathematically represented as

       w = \sqrt{\frac{k}{m} }

So

        u =  A *   \sqrt{\frac{k}{m} }

=>      A  =  u *   \sqrt{\frac{m}{k} }

Gnerally the length of the compression(Here an assumption that the spring was compressed to the ground by the hammer is made) by the hammer is mathematically represented as

           b  =  l -l_e

=>         b  = 0.08 - 0.05 9

=>         b  = 0.021 \  m

Generally at equilibrium position the net force acting on the spring is

            k *  b  -  mg  =  0

=>         k *  0.021   -   2 * 9.8  =  0

=>        k =  933 \  N/m

So

            A  =  0.30  *   \sqrt{\frac{2}{933} }

=>          A  =  0.014 \  m

An electric travel blanket uses a car's 12V supply. The current is 3A.
snow_lady [41]

For electrical devices . . .

           Power dissipated = (voltage) x (current) =

                                             (12 V)  x  (3.0 A) = 36 watts .

1 watt means 1 joule per second

           (36 joule/sec) x (60 sec/min) x (10 min)  =  21,600 joules

URGENT!!!
madreJ [45]

Answer:

f=6.97\times 10^{14}\ Hz

Explanation:

Given that,

Wavelength, \lambda=430\ nm=430\times 10^{-9}\ m

We need to find the frequency of the violet light.

We know that the relation between frequency and wavelength is given by :

f=\dfrac{c}{\lambda}\\\\f=\dfrac{3\times 10^8}{430\times 10^{-9}}\\\\f=6.97\times 10^{14}\ Hz

So, the frequency of violet light is 6.97\times 10^{14}\ Hz.
