Answer:

Binomial Nomenclature is a two-term naming system that uses two different terms to name the species, plants, animals and living organisms. ... The two terms consist of a generic epithet which is genus (category) of that species, and specific epithet which indicates the species itself.

A gas has a volume of 5.0 L at a pressure of 50 KPa. What happens to the volume when the pressure is increased to 125?
Alexeev081 [22]
The volume becomes two. You have to use the equation P1 x V1 = P2 x V2
P is pressure and V is volume.
P1 = 50     P2 = 125
V1 = 5       V2 = v (we don't know what it is)
Then set up the equation:
50 times 5 = 125 times v
250 = 125v
the divide both sides by 125 and isolate v
2 = v
Therefore the volume is decreased to 2.
Also, Boyle's Law explains this too: Volume and pressure are inversely related, This means that when one goes up the other goes down (ie when pressure increases volume decreases and vice versa). Becuase the pressure went up from 50 KPa tp 125 KPa the volume had to decrease.

Determine the LIMITING reactant in the following balanced equation:
padilas [110]

Answer:

KBr is limiting reactant.

Explanation:

Given data:

Mass of  KBr =4g

Mass of Cl₂ = 6 g

Limiting reactant = ?

Solution:

Chemical equation:

2KBr + Cl₂      →    2KCl + Br₂

Number of moles of KBr:

Number of moles = mass/molar mass

Number of moles = 4 g/ 119 gmol

Number of moles = 0.03 mol

Number of moles of Cl₂:

Number of moles = mass/molar mass

Number of moles = 6 g/ 70 gmol

Number of moles = 0.09 mol

Now we will compare the moles of reactant with product.

              KBr            :            KCl

                2              :              2

            0.03            :            0.03

             KBr            :              Br₂

                2             :               1

             0.03           :          1/2×0.03= 0.015

               Cl₂             :            KCl

                 1              :              2

            0.09            :           2/1×0.09 = 0.18

               Cl₂             :              Br₂

                1              :               1

             0.09           :            0.09

Less number of moles of product are formed by the KBr thus it will act as limiting reactant while Cl₂  is present in excess.

D=m/v. (Density equals mass over volume).
So in your case density = 4.2/6
Which equals 0.7
Your units will be grams over milliliters

So your answer is 0.7 g/ml

Which best explains why water has a much higher boiling point than would otherwise be predicted?
ikadub [295]
My guess is that water is a liquid and not a solid, or a gas. It can be heated by us or by the suns rays, which if done by the suns rays the water azorbs the light rising the temp to the point of boil which then makes the water evaporate into the air, and thus making cloud in the sky that we see all the time thus when the clouds become big enough it begins to rain. ( also called the water cycle)
