The animal kingdom is large and diverse. Scientists discover new species all the time, and they need a way to classify them. The

science of classification is called taxonomy. In taxonomy, every kingdom of life (plant, animal, fungus, etc) branches into smaller groups called phyla. Each phylum branches into classes, and so on down to species. The presence or absence of a backbone is one of the first traits that scientists use to classify animals. Animals without a backbone are invertebrates. There are many phyla of invertebrates. Earthworms, spiders, jellyfish, starfish and butterflies are all examples of invertebrate animals. Animals with a backbone are vertebrates.
Which of these is an example of an invertebrate?

A
an oak tree, which is a kind of plant
B
a mushroom, which is a kind of fungus
C
a bat, which is an animal with a backbone
D
a snail, which is an animal without a backbone

A team of engineers is doing a cost-benefit analysis to determine whether
beks73 [17]

Answer:

1) The risk of high cost due to increased resource requirements

2) The risk of late entry into the (a changed) market

Explanation:

The analysis being performed by the engineers = A cost benefit analysis to determine if a new technology should be developed

A cost-benefit analysis is a process of appraising or measuring the advantages, benefits of a policy, action or decision, so as to find the (equilibrium) balance point between the costs of the decision or action

The risk to be considered are;

1) The risk of high cost due to increased resource requirements

The increased cost required for the development of the new technology now which due to the unlikely existence of a similar invention in the market that will give them an advantage of increased profits

2) The risk of late entry into the (a changed) market

The changes in the consumer preferences, market landscape, and the likely introduction into the market of a similar invention by the competition in the near future which will reduce the amount of profits that can be gained from the invention

What is the theoretical yield of vanadium, in moles, that can be produced by the reaction of 1.0 mole of V2O5 with 4.0 moles of
IRINA_888 [86]

Answer:

Theoretical yield of vanadium = 1.6 moles

Explanation:

Moles of V_2O_5 = 1.0 moles

Moles of Ca = 4.0 moles

According to the given reaction:-

V_2O_5_{(s)} + 5Ca_{(l)}\rightarrow 2V_{(l)} + 5CaO_{(s)}

1 mole of V_2O_5 react with 5 moles of Ca

Moles of Ca available = 4.0 moles

Limiting reagent is the one which is present in small amount. Thus, Ca is limiting reagent. (4.0 < 5)

The formation of the product is governed by the limiting reagent. So,

5 moles of Ca on reaction forms 2 moles of V

1 mole of Ca on reaction for 2/5 mole of V

4.0 mole of Ca on reaction for \frac{2}{5}\times 4 mole of V

Moles of V = 1.6 moles

Theoretical yield of vanadium = 1.6 moles
