Note: Initial motion = 125 meters to the north

Final motion = 75 meters to the south

Asked: Total displacement

Answer: Total movement = initial motion + final motion

(Because the ultimate motion is opposite that the formula is)

Total displacement = Initial motion - End movement

= 125 meters - 75 meters

= 50 meters

So, the whole displacement of the boy is 50 meters.

Further Explanation

Displacement is that the shortest distance from the ultimate position and therefore the initial position of an object. distance this idea is commonly exchanged with the concept of distance. Displacement are often written as

d = r1 - r2

Displacement could be a change within the position of an object in an exceedingly certain interval and could be a vector quantity. Displacement is said to position transfer. the number of displacement depends only on the starting position and therefore the final position.

Distance could be a number that shows how far an object changes its position through a particular path. In physics or everyday terms, distance are often an estimate of the physical distance of two positions supported certain criteria. In mathematics, the gap must meet certain criteria.

Unlike the position coordinates, the gap might not be negative. Distance could be a scalar quantity, while displacement could be a vector quantity. the gap traveled by a vehicle (usually indicated on the odometer), person, or object, must be distinguished from the gap between points.

In physics, distance is that the length of the trail taken by a moving object, ranging from the initial position and finishing at the ultimate position. this idea is commonly exchanged with the concept of displacement.

Answer:  50 m

Consider the figure below: Let O be the starting reference point. The boy runs northwards 125 m and then 75 m southwards.

Displacement is the shortest path traveled from the reference point. Distance is the total path length traveled. Hence, the distance would be 125 +75 =200 m but the displacement would be 125-75 =50 m.

If there is a huge boulder on your lawn and you want to determine its density, but it is
Olin [163]

There are different options here but all of them work by approximating and assuming.

i) that the boulder is above ground.

ii) that the bottom surface of the boulder is known.

iii) the shape of the boulder is taken into account.

The most accurate way is measuring it by displacement method but the boulder is immovable hence the volume can be calculated by measuring the boulder or a waterproof box to be built around the boulder and calculate the volume occupied by boulder.

All the above methods are estimating methods.

*Another way to find the density is through specific gravity.

S.G = Density of object

Density of water

If the material that makes the boulder is known that is if it's stone or a mineral then the specific gravity can be found.

If the boulder is purely rock then S.G lies between 3 - 3.5 and the density of water is known thus the density of the boulder can be found without moving the boulder.

This is what I think after correction and allthe best!

14. The design for a rotating spacecraft below consists of two rings. The outer ring with a radius of 30 m holds the living quar
Zolol [24]

Answer:

T= 11.0003s

Explanation:

From the question we are told that

The outer ring with a radius of 30 m

inner Gravity Approximately 9.80 m/s'

Outer Gravity Approximately 5.35 m/s.

Generally the equation for centripetal force is given mathematically as

Centripetal acceleration enables Rotation therefore?

     \omega ^2 r =Angular\ acc

Considering the outer ring,

\omega ^2 r = 9.8

  \omega ^2= \frac{9.8}{30}

\omega = \sqrt{\frac{9.8}{30}}

\omega= 0.571 rad/s

Therefore solving for  Period T

Generally the equation for solving Period T is mathematically given as

T= \frac{2\pi}{\omega}

T= \frac{2\pi}{0.571 rad/s}

T= 11.0003s
