Dominik [7]

Answer:

A voltaic cell

Explanation:

A voltaic cell is a device which converts chemical energy to electrical energy. The chemical reactions that take place inside the cell causes electrons to flow from anode to cathode hence, electricity is produced. A simple voltaic cell is made by placing two different metals in contact with an electrolyte separated by a salt bridge. The cathode is the negative electrode while the anode is the positive electrode. It is also called a galvanic cell.

In a voltaic cell having a copper/copper solution half cell, reduction occurs at the cathode. Hence, at the cathode copper II ions accept two electrons and become reduced to ordinary metallic copper. This causes the blue colour of the solution to become discharged (fade) as the cell continues to function.

Explain the law of conservation of energy. Give a specific example using kinetic and potential energy that shows how energy is c
Marrrta [24]

Answer:

The law of conservation of energy is a law of science that states that energy cannot be created or destroyed, but only changed from one form into another or transferred from one object to another. This law is taught in physical science and physics classes in middle schools and high schools, and is used in those classes as well as in chemistry classes. When playing pool, the cue ball is shot at a stationary 8 ball. The cue ball has energy. When the cue ball hits the 8 ball, the energy transfers from the cue ball to the 8 ball, sending the 8 ball into motion. The cue ball loses energy because the energy it had has been transferred to the 8 ball, so the cue ball slows down.

How many moles of Co would be required to react with 6.14m of P4
insens350 [35]

The number of moles of Co that would be required to react with 6.14 moles of P4 would be 36.84 moles

Stoichiometric calculations

From the equation of the reaction:

6Co + P4 → 2Co3P2

For every 1 mole of P4, 6 moles of Co is required for complete reaction.

Thus, the mole of Co that would be needed for 6.14 moles of P4 would be:

                      6 x 6.14 = 36.84 moles

A 25-mL sample of 0.160M solution of NaOH is titrated with 17 mL of an unknown solution of
leonid [27]
V ( NaOH ) = 25 mL in liters : 25 / 1000 => 0.025 L

M ( NaOH ) = 0.160 M

V ( H2SO4) = 17 mL / 1000 => 0.017 L

M ( H2SO4) = ?

number of moles NaOH:

n = M x V = 0.160 x 0.025 => 0.004 moles NaOH

Mole ratio :

2 NaOH + H2SO4 = Na2SO4 + 2 H2O

2 moles NaOH ----------- 1 mole H2SO4
0.004 moles NaOH ----- ? moles H2SO4

moles H2SO4 = 0.004 x 1 / 2

= 0.002 moles of H2SO4

M ( H2SO4) = n / V

M = 0.002 / 0.017

= 0.117 M H2SO4

Answer B

hope this helps!
