Answer:

Neither. They will have equal change in the magnitude of momentum.

Explanation:

Change in in momentum of a body is calculated as follows:

ΔP = FΔt

where ΔP is the change in momentum

and F is the force exerted on the object

and Δt is the change in time during the impact

The time it takes for the impact is the same for both objects. Also, according to Newton's third law, when object A exerts a force on on object B, B exerts an equal(magnitude wise) but opposite force on A. Therefore the value of F is also equal. This tells us that the magnitude of impulse will be the same for both the fly and the truck

Four objects are situated along the y axis as follows: a 2.09-kg object is at +2.97 m, a 2.93-kg object is at +2.53 m, a 2.57-kg
Tcecarenko [31]

Answer:

x = 0 m

y = 1.02 m

Explanation:

M1 = 2.09 kg

y1 = 2.97 m

M2 = 2.93 kg

y2 = 2.53 m

M3 = 2.57 kg

y3 = 0 m

M4 = 3.92 kg

y5 = -0.496 m

since all objects are situated on the Y-axis, this means the x coordinate of the center of mass is 0.

To find the y coordinate of the center of mass, we apply the equation below.

sum of moment of the objects about the origin = moment of the total mass of objects about the center of mass

M1.y1 + M2.y2 + M3.y3 + M4.y4 = Mt.Y

(2.09 x 2.97) + (2.93 x 2.53) + (2.57 x 0) + (3.92 x -0.496) = (2.09 + 2.93 + 2.57 + 3.92) Y

11.68 = 11.51 Y

Y = 11.68 / 11.51 = 1.02 m

Suppose you pour 0.250 kg of 20.0°C water into a 0.600 kg aluminum pan off the stove with a temperature of 173°C. Assume that th
lapo4ka [179]

Answer:

T_f=5.0116^{\circ}C

Explanation:

Given:

  • mass of water, m_w=0.25\ kg
  • initial temperature of water, T_i_w=20^{\circ}C
  • initial temperature of pan, T_i_p=173^{\circ}C
  • mass of pan, m_p=0.6\ kg
  • mass of water evapourated, m_v=0.03\ kg
  • specific heat of water, c_w=4186\ J.kg^{-1}.K^{-1}
  • specific heat of aluminium pan, c_a=900\ J.kg^{-1}.K^{-1}
  • latent heat of vapourization, L=2256000\ J.kg^{-1}

<u>Using the equation of heat:</u>

<em>Here, initially certain mass of water is vapourised first and then the remaining mass of water comes in thermal equilibrium with the pan.</em>

m_p.c_a.(T_{ip}-T_f)=m_v.L+(m_w-m_v).c_w.(T_f-T_{iw})

0.6\times 900\times (173-T_f)=0.03\times 2256000+(0.25-0.03)\times 4186\times (T_f-20)

T_f=5.0116^{\circ}C

Need help please ASAP 39 points ???? 4 questions each have to be a paragraph the directions are there ?????
Hunter-Best [27]

Answer:

1) Magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) is a test that uses powerful magnets, radio waves, and a computer to make detailed pictures of the inside of your body.

Your doctor can use this test to diagnose you or to see how well you've responded to treatment. Unlike X-rays and computed tomography (CT) scans, MRIs don’t use the damaging ionizing radiation of X-rays.

2) MRIs employ powerful magnets which produce a strong magnetic field that forces protons in the body to align with that field. When a radiofrequency current is then pulsed through the patient, the protons are stimulated, and spin out of equilibrium, straining against the pull of the magnetic field.

3)  Magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) uses a large magnet and radio waves to look at organs and structures inside your body. Health care professionals use MRI scans to diagnose a variety of conditions, from torn ligaments to tumors. MRIs are very useful for examining the brain and spinal cord.

4) The magnetic fields that change with time create loud knocking noises which may harm hearing if adequate ear protection is not used. They may also cause peripheral muscle or nerve stimulation that may feel like a twitching sensation. The radiofrequency energy used during the MRI scan could lead to heating of the body.

What is the angular displacement of a minute hand of a clock after 3 minutes?
Inessa [10]

Answer:

π/10 rads

Explanation:

It takes an hour (60 minutes) for the minute's hand to turn a full circle or achieve an angular rotation of

2πl rad.

Now, number of periods of 3 minutes in an hour is;

Number of periods = 60/3 = 20 periods

Thus, 3 minutes rotation accounts for 1/20 of 2π the rotation of the minute's hand in an hour.

Thus;

Angular displacement = (1/20) * 2π = π/10 rads

A rubber ball is dropped and bounces vertically from a horizontal concrete floor. If the ball has a speed of 3 m/s just before s
Ganezh [65]

Answer:

F=12.5N

Explanation:

Net force = rate of change of momentum

F = m*a

so find the change of momentum P

Pdown

P=m*v_1=0.42kg*3m/s

Pup

P=m*v_1=0.42kg*6.5m/s

dP = change in P

dP= 0.42kg (3- -.6.5)m/s =3.99 kg m/s

dT = 0.32 s

so

F = \frac{dP}{dt}=\frac{3.99Kg*m/s}{0.32s} =12.468 N
