Answer:

0.9 m,386.36 Hz

Explanation:

We are given that

Speed of train,vs=32 m/s

Frequency of whistle,f0=350 Hz

We have to find the wavelength of sound and the frequency of heard by the listener in front of the locomotive.

Speed of sound=v=340 m/s

We know that the frequency of listener

f=f_0(\frac{v}{v-v_s})

Using the formula

f=350\times(\frac{340}{340-32})

f=386.36 Hz

Wavelength,\lambda=\frac{v}{f}

Using the formula

\lambda=\frac{340}{386.36}=0.9 m

To calculate the change in kinetic energy, you must know the force as a function of _______. The work done by the force causes t
aliya0001 [1]

To calculate the change in kinetic energy, you must know the force as a function of position. The work done by the force causes the kinetic energy change

Explanation:

The work-energy theorem states that the change in kinetic enegy of an object is equal to the work done on the object:

\Delta E_k = W

where the work done is the integral of the force over the position of the object:

W=\int F(x) dx

As we see from the formula, the magnitude of the force F(x) can be dependent from the position of the object, therefore in order to solve correctly the integral and find the work done on the object, it is required to know the behaviour of the force as a function of the position, x.

A rocket blasts off from the Earth's surface. During the initial phase of flight, the engine of the rocket burns fuel at a rate
Katen [24]

Answer:

αβ = Ma

Explanation:

By Newton's 2nd Law, the equation governing the motion of the rocket while the rocket is burning fuel is

αβ = Ma where  α = rocket's fuel burning rate, β = relative to the velocity of the rocket, M = instantaneous mass of the rocket and a = acceleration of rocket.
