Answer:

0.9 m,386.36 Hz

Explanation:

We are given that

Speed of train,vs=32 m/s

Frequency of whistle,f0=350 Hz

We have to find the wavelength of sound and the frequency of heard by the listener in front of the locomotive.

Speed of sound=v=340 m/s

We know that the frequency of listener

f=f_0(\frac{v}{v-v_s})

Using the formula

f=350\times(\frac{340}{340-32})

f=386.36 Hz

Wavelength,\lambda=\frac{v}{f}

Using the formula

\lambda=\frac{340}{386.36}=0.9 m

How quickly do muscles become fatigued?
agasfer [191]

Answer:

Fatigue is usually defined as the reversible decline of performance during activity, and most recovery occurs within the first hour. However, there is also a slowly reversible component that can take several days to reverse (155). Muscle injury also causes a decline in performance that reverses only very slowly.

A simple machine makes our work easier and faster. why?
kirill [66]

Answer:

simple machines such as ramps lessen the moment required to do work. if a triangle has a base of 5 and the height  is 7, a ramp would make the hypotenuse of this triangle lessoning the total distance. using a²+b²=c² 25+49=c² 74≈8.6 and it is obvious that 8.6 is less than 12 in every unit. other simple machines such as pulleys make it lighter making it simply easier for an object to be lifted.

(b) A piece of wood of volume 0.6 m² floats in water. Find the volume
enot [183]

Answer:

Explanation:

Let the volume below water be v . Then

buoyant force = v d g where d is density of water , g is acceleration due to gravity

= v x 1000 x g

weight of wood piece = volume x density of wood x g

= .6 x 600 x g

for equilibrium while floating

buoyant force = weight

= v x 1000 x g  =  .6 x 600 x g

v = .36 m²

volume above water or volume exposed = .6 - .36

= .24 m²

When immersed completely ,

buoyant force = .6 x 1000 x 9.8

= 5880 N

weight of wood

=  .6 x 600 x g

= 3528 N

buoyant force is more than the weight . In order to equalise them for floating with full volume in water

weight required = 5880 - 3528

= 2352 N.

When you rub a balloon on a sweater, for example, some electrons come off and end up on the balloon. The fibers have lost electrons giving them a positive charge. The rubber gained electrons giving it a negative charge. ... The positively charged fibers are now attracted to the negatively charged balloon.
