A car and a motorcycle start from rest at the same time on a straight track, but the motorcycle is 25.0 m behind the car. The ca
sergeinik [125]

Answer:

t = 8.45 sec

car distance d = 132.09  m

bike distance d = 157.08 m

Explanation:

GIVEN :

motorcycle is 25 m behind the car , therefore distance need to covered by bike to overtake car is 25+ d, when car reache distance d at time t

for car

by equation of motion

d  = ut + \frac{1}{2}at^2

u = 0 starting from rest

d = \frac{1}{2}at^2

t^2 = \frac{2d}{a}

for bike

d+25 = 0 + \frac{1}{2}*4.40t^2

t^2= \frac{d+25}{2.20}

equating time of both

\frac{2d}{a} = \frac{d+25}{2.20}

solving for d we get

d = 132 m

therefore t is= \sqrt{\frac{2d}{a}}

t =  \sqrt{\frac{2*132}{3.70}}

t = 8.45 sec

each travelled in time 8.45 sec as

for car

d = \frac{1}{2}*3.70 *8.45^2

d = 132.09  m

fro bike

d = \frac{1}{2}*4.40 *8.45^2

d = 157.08 m

A particle moves on a line away from its initial position so that after t hours it is s = 6t2 + 2t miles from its initial positi
docker41 [41]
<span>32 mph
   First, let's calculate the location of the particle at t=1, and t=4
 t=1
 s = 6*t^2 + 2*t
 s = 6*1^2 + 2*1
 s = 6 + 2
 s = 8 t = 4
 s = 6*t^2 + 2*t s = 6*4^2 + 2*4
 s = 6*16 + 8
 s = 96 + 8
 s = 104
   So the particle moved from 8 to 104 over the time period of 1 to 4 hours. And the average velocity is simply the distance moved over the time spent. So:
 avg_vel = (104-8)/(4-1) = 96/3 = 32
   And since the units were miles and hours, that means that the average speed of the particle over the interval [1,4] was 32 miles/hour, or 32 mph.</span>

A 10.1 g bullet leaves the muzzle of a rifle with a speed of 425 m/s. What constant force is exerted on the bullet while it is t
PIT_PIT [208]

Answer

Force will be 1520.2604 N

Explanation:

We have given mass of the bullet m = 10.1 gram = 0.0101 kg

Distance S= 0.6 m

Final velocity v = 425 m/sec

Initial velocity u will be 0 m/sec

From third equation of motion v^2=u^2+2as

425^2=0^2+2\times a\times 0.6

a=150520.833m/sec^2

We know that force is given by F = ma

So force = 0.0101×150520.833 = 1520.2604 N
