find the slope of the line containing the points (-1,6) and (3,5) put final.answer in slope-intercept form
Ugo [173]

Given the points (-1,6) and (3,5).

The formula to find the slope is

m=\frac{y_2-y_1_{}}{x_2-x_1}

Take

x_1=-1,y_1=6,x_2=3,y_2=5

Plug the values into the formula and find the slope.

\begin{gathered} m=\frac{5-6}{3-(-1)} \\ =\frac{-1}{4} \end{gathered}

The slope-intercept form is y = mx+b.

Plug the value of m.

y=-\frac{1}{4}x+b

ThusConsider the point (-1,6). Substitute -1 for x and for y into the equation.

\begin{gathered} 6=-\frac{1}{4}(-1)+b \\ =\frac{1}{4}+b \\ b=6-\frac{1}{4} \\ =\frac{23}{4} \end{gathered}

Thus, the equation of the line in slope intercept form is

y=-\frac{1}{4}x+\frac{23}{4}

I am a multiple of 7 and divisible by 4 if i am less than 30 what number am i?
SOVA2 [1]

Answer: 28

Step-by-step explanation:

The multiples of 7 that's less than 30 include: 7, 14 , 21 and 28.

From the numbers above,

7 isn't divisible by 4 as it gives a remainder.

14 isn't divisible by 4 as it gives a remainder.

21 isn't divisible by 4 as it gives a remainder.

28 is divisible by 4 without a remainder

Therefore, the correct answer should be 28

Solve for u.<br> -4+2 u = -10<br> Simplify your answer as much as possible.
aliya0001 [1]

Answer:

u = -3

Step-by-step explanation:

Step 1: Write equation

-4 + 2u = -10

Step 2: Solve for <em>u</em>

<u>Add 4 to both sides:</u> 2u = -6

<u>Divide both sides by 2:</u> u = -3

Step 3: Check

<em>Plug in x to verify if it's a solution.</em>

-4 + 2(-3) = -10

-4 - 6 = -10

-10 = -10
