Help, I want to understand how you do this (not just the answer) and what formula(s) I have to use. 1.00ml of a 3.50x10^-4 M sol

ution of oleic acid is diluted with 9.00mL of petroleum ether, forming solution A. Then 2.00mL of solution A is diluted with 8.00mL of petroleum ether, forming solution B. What is the concentration of solution B?

To solve this we use the equation,

M1V1 = M2V2

where M1 is the concentration of the stock solution, V1 is the volume of the stock solution, M2 is the concentration of the new solution and V2 is its volume.

Consider solution A
<span>3.5 * 10^–4 * 1 = M2 * (9+1) </span>
<span>M2 = 3.50x10^(–5) M </span>
<span>conc of A = 3.50x10^(–5)M </span>

<span>Consider solution B </span>
<span>2 * 3.50x10^(–5) = M2 * (8+2) </span>
<span>M2 = 7*10^(-6) M </span>
<span>conc of B = 7*10^(-6) M </span>

If you have 155 mL solution of a 0.762 M FeCl3 solution, how many
Sedaia [141]

Moles are the product of the molar concentration and the volume of the solution. The moles of Ferric chloride is 0.118 moles.

<h3>What are moles?</h3>

Moles are the smallest unit of the measurement of atoms and molecules. It is calculated by the molar concentration and the volume of the solution.

Given,

Molar concentration of ferric chloride = 0.762 M

Volume of solution = 0.155 L

Moles are calculated as:

\begin{aligned} \rm Moles &= \rm Molarity \times Volume (L) \\\\&= 0.762 \times 0.155\\\\&= 0.118\;\rm mol\end{aligned}

Therefore, 0.118 moles of ferric chloride are present in the sample.

Where does oxidation occur in an electrochemical cell?
AlladinOne [14]
Option No. 1 at the cathode in both an electrolytic cell and a voltaic cell

Negative ion arrives at the anode, attracted by electrostatic forces, where they lose electrons. Loss of electrons is defined as oxidation.

The reverse process occur at the negative electrode, where positive ions pick up electrons. They are reduced.
