Help, I want to understand how you do this (not just the answer) and what formula(s) I have to use. 1.00ml of a 3.50x10^-4 M sol

ution of oleic acid is diluted with 9.00mL of petroleum ether, forming solution A. Then 2.00mL of solution A is diluted with 8.00mL of petroleum ether, forming solution B. What is the concentration of solution B?

To solve this we use the equation,

M1V1 = M2V2

where M1 is the concentration of the stock solution, V1 is the volume of the stock solution, M2 is the concentration of the new solution and V2 is its volume.

Consider solution A
3.5 * 10^–4 * 1 = M2 * (9+1)
M2 = 3.50x10^(–5) M
conc of A = 3.50x10^(–5)M

Consider solution B
2 * 3.50x10^(–5) = M2 * (8+2)
M2 = 7*10^(-6) M
conc of B = 7*10^(-6) M

KonstantinChe [14]
The  product  of   replacement  reaction  of  2Fe  + 3  CUSO4  yield  2Fe(SO4)3  +  3  Cu

during replacement reaction involve replacement of less reactive element in the reactivity series from its compound. Fe is more reactive in the reactivity series than cu therefore it Fe replaces cu from CUSO4

Determine the number of Au atoms found in 5.18 grams of gold.
Agata [3.3K]

Answer:

1.58× 10²² atoms of Au

Explanation:

Given data:

Mass of gold = 5.18 g

Number of atoms of gold = ?

Solution:

First of all we will calculate the number of moles of gold.

Number of moles = mass/molar mass

Number of moles = 5.18 g/196.96 g/mol

Number of moles = 0.0263 mol

Number of atoms:

Avogadro number.

It is the number of atoms , ions and molecules in one gram atom of element, one gram molecules of compound and one gram ions of a substance.

The number 6.022 × 10²³ is called Avogadro number.

1 mole = 6.022 × 10²³ atoms of Au

0.0263 mol × 6.022 × 10²³ atoms of Au / 1mol

0.158× 10²³ atoms of Au

1.58× 10²² atoms of Au

Enter a balanced nuclear equation for the production of lead-212, used in the treatment of some cancers, from the beta decay of
MariettaO [177]

Answer:

\frac{212}{81}Tl ------>\beta  + \frac{212}{82}Pb

Explanation:

Beta emission involves the conversion of a neutron to a proton, an electron and a neutrino. This leads to a reduction in the neutron-proton ratio.

During a beta emission, the mass number of the parent and daughter nuclei remain the same. The atomic number of the daughter nucleus increases by one unit above that of the parent nucleus as we can see from the equation.

Hence, the daughter nucleus is found one place after its parent in the periodic table.
