Answer:

unsaturated solution

Explanation:

Given: Epsom salts have a solubility 26.2 grams.

By definition,Solubility is the maximum amount of solute that can be dissolved in 100 g of water.

A solution is called saturated solution when the concentration of solute becomes equal to its solubility.

If the concentration of solute is less than solubility it is called unsaturated solution.

In this case: solubility is 26.2 grams.

If we dissolve 26 grams of Epsom salt in 100 g of water , concentration of solute is less than the solubility(26.2 g in 100 g  of water) , hence it is an unsaturated solution.

Write the full symbol for the isotope of oxygen having 8 neutrons.
Helen [10]

Answer:

Isotopes are forms of a chemical element that have the same atomic number but differ in mass. 16O → 8 protons + 8 neutrons; a “light” oxygen); The relative amounts are expressed as either 18O/16O or δ 18O Oxygen - 18 (aka 18O → 8 protons + 10 neutrons; a “heavy” oxygen).

Why is flameless heating used for heating a solution in hexane or diethyl ether during a recyrstallization?
kkurt [141]

The technique which is used to purify the chemicals is said to be recrystallization.

In this process, solute is dissolved in a particular solvent and according to its principle, the quantity of solute which is dissolved by solvent increases with increase in temperature. The solutes are more soluble at high temperatures in comparison to room temperature (insoluble) or low temperature. Therefore, heating is needed to dissolve the solute in the solvent.

Now, in the case of hexane or diethyl ether, flameless heating is required because of their low boiling points implies if they heat directly on fire, then they have tendency to catch fire. Thus, hexane and diethyl ether are highly flammable.
