Answer:

The direct variation says that:

y \propto x

then the equation is in the form of : y =kx.....[1] where k is the constant of variation.

From the table:

Consider any values of x and y.

Let x = 20 and y =24

Substitute these values in [1] to solve for k;

24 = 20k

Divide both sides by 20 we get;

1.2 = k

⇒y = 1.2x

Check:

Substitute any values of x and y.

x= 30 and y =36

y = 1.2x

36 = 1.2(30)

36 = 36         True.

Therefore, the direct variation equation for the table of ordered pairs is, y = 1.2x

Hi.

x = 10
y = 12

I got the answer because the the first row down is just the 10 times table. 10, 20, 30, 40. The second row down is the 12 times table. 12, 24, 36, 48.

Hope this helped!
Have a great day :)

krok68 [10]

Answer:

you need to convert pounds to kilograms. 196 pounds is 88.904 kilograms. The directions tell you that 20 milligrams of the drug is to be administered for each kilogram of a person's weight. Now you need to multiply 88.904 by 20. That should give you 1778.08 milligrams of lincomycin. You would then mix 250 cc's of saline solution to the 1778.08 milligrams of lincomycin; but I think its just asking you how much lincomycin to administer.

at what rate per minute should the 250 cc solution be adminstered

3. The functions f and g are defined by f: x → ax – b where a and b are constants and g: x → X+4.
valentinak56 [21]

Answer:

fg(2) = 9 means that f(g(2)) = 9

We know that g(2) = 6

So f(6) = 9 which means that

6a - b = 9 (note 1)

And we know that g(f(1/2)) = 2

And we know that f(1/2) = 1/2(a) - b

So g(1/2(a) - b) = 2

Meaning that 1/2(a) - b + 4 = 2

So 1/2(a) - b = - 2 (note 2)

Using note 1 and 2 we can solve the equation

11/2(a) = 11 so a = 2 and b = 3
