Answer:

233.1 miles per hours

Explanation:

Speed: This is defined as the ratio of distance to time. The S.I unit of speed is m/s. speed is a vector quantity because it can only be represented by magnitude only. Mathematically, speed can be expressed as,

S = d/t ....................... Equation 1

Where S = speed of the runner, d = distance covered, t = time.

Given: d = 100 meter , t = 9.580 seconds

Conversion:

If, 1 meter =  0.00062 miles

Then, 100 meters = (0.00062×100) miles = 0.62 miles.

Also

If, 3600 s = 1 h

Then, 9.580 s = (1×9.580)/3600 = 0.00266 hours.

Substitute into equation 1

S = 0.62/0.00266

S = 233.1 miles per hours.

Hence the runner speed is 233.1 miles per hours

the definition of acceleration in kinematics, allows to find that the correct answer is:

     2.  speed up  ( acceleration)

The kinematics study the movement of the body, the acceleration is defined as the change of the speed by the time in the interval

             a = Δv / t

Where the bold letters indicate vectors, a is the acceleration, v the velocity and t the time

Analyzing this expression we see that for there to be a change in velocity, there must be an acceleration of the body.

Let's analyze the different claims

1. True. If it is stopped and you start to move there is an acceleration, therefore there is a change in speed, but after you are moving the acceleration becomes zero and there is no change in speed

2. True. Whenever there is acceleration there is a change in speed

3. False. Moving slowly does not change the acceleration, therefore there is no change in speed

4. True. If you are moving and you stop at this moment there is an acceleration, therefore there is a change in speed, but after being stopped the acceleration is zero and there is no change in speed

5. False. If you change the direction at the instant of change there is an acceleration but after you go in the opposite direction there is not acceleration therefore there is no change in speed.

In conclusion using the definition of acceleration in kinematics, we can find the answer the condition for a change in velocity, the correct statement is:

     2.   speed up  ( acceleration)

When was the most gravitational potential energy stored between the model and Earth? Assume that the model's mass did not change
Lyrx [107]

Answer:

As the ball falls from C to E, potential energy is converted to kinetic energy. The velocity of the ball increases as it falls, which means that the ball attains its greatest velocity, and thus its greatest kinetic energy

A car travels from point A to point B, moving in the same direction but with a non-constant speed. The first half of the distanc
Dmitrij [34]

Answer:

Explanation:

From A to B

distance traveled with velocity v_1  in time t_1

\frac{d}{2}=v_1t_1----1

from B to C

distance traveled is 0.5 d with v_2  and v_3  velocity for half-half time

\frac{d}{2}=\frac{v_2t_2}{2}+\frac{v_3t_3}{2}----2

divide 1 and 2 we get

\frac{1}{1}=\frac{2v_1t_1}{v_2t_2+v_3t_3}

\frac{t_1}{t_2}=\frac{v_2+v_3}{2v_1}

Now average velocity is given by

v_{avg}=\frac{d}{t_1+t_2}

taking t_1  common

v_{avg}=\frac{2v_1t_1}{t_1(1+\frac{t_2}{t_1})}

v_{avg}=\frac{2v_1}{1+\frac{2v_1}{v_2+v_3}}

v_{avg}=\frac{2v_1(v_2+v_3)}{2v_1+v_2+v_3}
