Answer: 1.7 moles

Explanation:

Given that:

Volume of water V = 1.5L

(since 1 liter = 1dm3

1.5L = 1.5dm3)

Temperature T = 100°C

Convert Celsius to Kelvin

(100°C + 273 = 373K)

Pressure P = 3.5 atm

Number of moles of steam N = ?

Note that Molar gas constant R is a constant with a value of 0.0082 ATM dm3 K-1 mol-1

Then, apply ideal gas equation

pV = nRT

3.5atm x 1.5dm3 = n x (0.0082 ATM dm3 K-1 mol-1 x 373K)

5.25 = n x 3.06

n = 5.25/3.06

n = 1.7 moles

Thus, 1.7 moles of steam is present

4 Na + O2 → 2 Na2O

6.79 moles of O2 will react to form how many moles of Na2O?
Nataly_w [17]

Answer:

13.94moles of Na₂O

Explanation:

The balanced reaction expression is given as:

        4Na  +  O₂  →   2Na₂O

Given parameters:

Number of moles of O₂ = 6.97moles

Unknown:

Number of moles of Na₂O

Solution:

To solve this problem;

            1 mole of O₂  will produce 2 moles of Na₂O ;

            6.97 moles of O₂ will produce 6.97 x 2  = 13.94moles of Na₂O

How long is a red blood cell
Lera25 [3.4K]
I suspect this question should read "How long does a red blood cell live." A red blood cell lives for between 100 and 120 days. It takes 7 days for a new red blood cell to develop from stem cells. Stem cells are similar to base cells. They can also be seen as a general template from which specialized cells are made. Stem cells can be taken from a newborn baby's umbilical chord or extracted from an adult blood donor's blood.This

How many moles of CO2 are emitted into the atmosphere when 22.1 g C8H18 is burned
ANTONII [103]

Answer:

1.552 moles

Explanation:

First, we'll begin by writing a balanced equation for the reaction showing how C8H18 is burn in air to produce CO2.

This is illustrated below:

2C8H18 + 25O2 -> 16CO2 + 18H2O

Next, let us calculate the number of mole of C8H18 present in 22.1g of C8H18. This is illustrated below:

Molar Mass of C8H18 = (12x8) + (18x1) = 96 + 18 = 114g/mol

Mass of C8H18 = 22.1g

Mole of C8H18 =..?

Number of mole = Mass /Molar Mass

Mole of C8H18 = 22.1/144

Mole of C8H18 = 0.194 mole

From the balanced equation above,

2 moles of C8H18 produced 16 moles of CO2.

Therefore, 0.194 mole of C8H18 will produce = (0.194x16)/2 = 1.552 moles of CO2.

Therefore, 1.552 moles of CO2 are emitted into the atmosphere when 22.1 g C8H18 is burned
