Answer:

It took 1.28 seconds to his voice to reach the Earth via radio waves.

Explanation:

The electromagnetic spectrum is the distribution of radiation due to the different frequencies at which it radiates and its different intensities, that radiation is formed by electromagnetic waves, which are transverse waves formed by an electric field and a magnetic field perpendicular to it.

The distribution of the radiation in the electromagnetic spectrum can also be given in wavelengths, but it is more frequent to work with it at frequencies, the highest being that of gamma rays, followed by X-rays, ultraviolet rays and the visible region , and those of lower frequencies, which correspond to infrared, microwave and radio waves.

Light propagates as electromagnetic wave in vacuum with a speed of 3x10^{8}m/s. Therefore, radio waves will have in vacuum the same speed.

Then, to know the time that it took for its voice, the next equation can be used:

c = \frac{d}{t}  (1)

Where c is the speed of light, d is the distance and t is the time.

Notice that t can be isolated from equation 1.

t = \frac{d}{c} (2)

t = \frac{3.85x10^{8} m}{3x10^{8}m/s}

t = 1.28s

Hence, it took 1.28 seconds to his voice to reach the Earth via radio waves.

Bonds: Including Carbon Compounds Quick Check
Sever21 [200]

Metallic bonds are responsible for many properties of metals, such as conductivity. This is because the bonds can shift because valence electrons are held loosely and move freely. That is option C.

What are metallic bonds?

Metallic bonds are defined as those bonds that causes the electrostatic attraction between metal cations and delocalized electrons of another metallic substance.

The characteristics of a metallic compound with metallic bonds include the following:

  • strength,

  • malleability,

  • ductility,

  • thermal and electrical conductivity,

  • opacity and

  • luster.

The metallic bonds of these metallic atoms gives them conductivity features because the electrons from the outer shells of the metal atoms are delocalised , and are free to move through the whole structure.

Joe balances a stationary coin on the the tip of his finger 20 cm from the top of the table. How much work is Joe doing?
adell [148]

The work done by Joe is 0 J.

Explanation:

When a force is applied to an object, there will be a movement because of the applied force to a certain distance. This transfer of energy when a force is applied to an object that tends to move the object is known as work done.

The energy is transferred from one state to another and the stored energy is equal to the work done.

                                 W = F . D

where F represents the force in newton,

          D represents the distance or displacement of an object.

Force = 0 N,   D = 20 cm = 0.20 m

                                 W = 0 \times 0.20 = 0 J.

Hence the work done by Joe is 0 J.

What relationship exists between speed, velocity, and acceleration
enyata [817]
Velocity is speed and the direction of the speed. Acceleration is the rate at which Velocity is changing, and the direction in which it's changing.
