Answer:

The final freezing point of water is -5.58^{0}C

Explanation:

According to colligative properties of molecules, \Delta T_{f}=i.k_{f}.m

where \Delta T_{f} is the depression in freezing point of a solution, i is the vant hoff factor of solute, k_{f} is the cryogenoscopic constant of solvent and m is molality of the solution.

Here solute is sugar and solvent is water.

Molality of solution = \frac{number of moles of sugar}{mass of water in kg} = \frac{3}{1}mol/kg= 3 mol/kg

So \Delta T_{f}=(1)\times (1.86)\times (3)^{0}C = -5.58^{0}C

is this for a test or are you genuinely interested? molality = mols sugar/kg solvent

Solve for molality

delta T = Kf*m

Solve for delta T and subtract from zero C to find the new freezing point.

or

-5.58

By mistake, you added salt instead of sugar to the<br> oil. How can you remove the salt?
Ghella [55]

Explanation:

To remove the salt from the oil, I will add water to dissolve the salt from it.

Oil is an organic molecule that is non-polar

Salt is polar ionic compound

Salt will not dissolve in the oil.

  • Take the mixture.
  • Add water to it.
  • Water and oil are immiscible
  • Shake the new heterogeneous mixture vigorously.
  • leave to settle.
  • Oil will come on top of the water.
  • You can skim off the oil layer on top.
  • Then heat the water and salt solution.
  • This leaves the oil behind.

Answer:

1= Magnesium

2 = Option 3 =  1s² 2s² 2p⁶

Explanation:

An electrically neutral atom consist of equal number of protons and electrons.

The answer for 1st q is magnesium because the electronic configuration showed twelve number of electrons. The atomic number of magnesium is twelve that's why this configuration is of Mg.

Mg₁₂ =  1s² 2s² 2p⁶ 3s²

The second answer is option three because has atomic number ten and third electronic configuration have ten electrons.

Ne₁₀ = 1s² 2s² 2p⁶

It is stable electronic configuration. Neon is inert because of this electronic configuration. The outer most shell is completely filled.

To break the oxygen-oxygen bonds in a single O2 molecule, 1 × 10–18 J of energy is required. Which of the following wavelengths
Sonbull [250]

E = hc/(lamda)

The lamda symbol is wavelength, which this site does not have. I can represent it with an "x" instead.

Plancks constant, h = 6.626×10^-32 J·s

Speed of light, c = 3.00×10^8 m/s

The energy must be greater than or equal to 1×10^-18 J

1×10^-18 J ≤ (6.626×10^-32 J·s)*(3.0×10^8 m/s) / x

x ≤ (6.626×10^-32 J·s)*(3.0×10^8 m/s) / (1×10^-18 J)

x ≤ 1.99×10^-7 m or 199 nm

The wavelength of light must be greater than or equal to 199 nm

What does contact forces and non-contact forces mean?
Dmitrij [34]
A contact force is a force in which and object comes in contact with a another object. A non-contact force, is a force is an object applied by another body. (A good example of a non-contact force is gravity)
