Two automobiles of equal mass approach an intersection. One vehicle is traveling with velocity 12.0 m/s toward the east and the

other is traveling north with speed v2i. Neither driver sees the other. The vehicles collide in the intersection and stick together, leaving parallel skid marks at an angle of 64.5° north of east. Determine the initial speed v2i of the northward-moving vehicle.

Answer: 25.7m/s

Explanation: the cars have equal masses so we only consider their velocities,

The cars traveled together at 65° north of east this is with a velocity equal to the resultant velocity,

Using the force diagram as shown below;

Tan 65° = Vn/Ve

Ve is velocity of the car traveling east

Vn is velocity of car traveling north

Tan 65° = V2/12

2.144 = V2/12

V2 = 12 * 2.144

V2 = 25.7 m/s

Consider two vectors A~ and B~ and their resultant A~ +B~ . The magnitudes of the vectors A~ and B~ are, respectively, 18.2 and
saw5 [17]

Answer:

15.76°

Explanation:

Hi!

Let C~ = A~ + B~

Then

C~ dot A~ = |C| |A| cos Ф

C~ dot A~ = (A~ + B~) dot A~ = |A|^2 + |B| |A| cos(120)

Therefore

cos Ф = (|A| + |B| cos(120)) / |C| = 15.65/|C|

and

|C|^2 = |A|^2 + |B|^2 + 2 |B| |A| cos(120)

|C| = 16.261

cos Ф = 15.65/16.261

Ф = 15.76°

HELP PLS !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!]
irina [24]

Answer:

0.25

Explanation:

According to newtons law of motion

\sum F_x = ma

F_f = ma

nR = ma

nmg = ma

ng = a

n = a/g

g is the acceleration due to gravity

Given

a = 2.42m/s²

g = 9.8m/s²

Substitute into the formula;

n = 2.42/9.8

n = 0.25

Hence the coefficient of kinetic friction is 0.25

Why does glass expands before water?
shtirl [24]
Because glass have molecules that are more closely packed together than water therefore when gaining heat the glass would gain heat faster and therefore exapand faster.
