Well, you can put various math problems into one. Equations can also show more information easier than writing many problems. Hope this helps, and keep learning!

I am not 100% sure what you are asking here...

However, an advantage to equations is that we can find out nearly all problems. Math, Geometry, Algebra, Science, even Economics all use math in order to solve problems that they want to figure out. It would be very hard to figure out many things about the world without equations.

find the height of a cylinder whose volume is 41.5 cubic yards and has a radius of 2 yards. Please help
chubhunter [2.5K]
General formula :
V = pi x radius squared x height

41.5 = pi x 4 x h
41.5 = 4pi x h
41.5/4pi = h
3.302465069 = h

A firm producing socks has a fixed cost of $20,000 and variable cost of $2 per pair of socks. Let x = the number of pairs of soc
svetoff [14.1K]

Answer:

break even point = 8000 socks produced or $36000 in costs

Step-by-step explanation:

the cost function of the firm is

total cost = fixed cost + variable cost = $20000 + $2*Q

where Q= number of socks

the revenue from sales is

sales = Price* Q = $4.50*Q

the break even point is reached when the net profit is = 0 ( that is, the total cost is equal to the revenue from sales) , then

total cost = sales

$20000 + $2*Q =$4.50*Q

Q= $20000/($4.50-$2) = 8000 socks

that represents

total cost = $20000 + $2*8000  = $36000

then

break even point = 8000 socks produced or $36000 in costs

I NEED HELP
BaLLatris [955]

Answer:

\dfrac{1}{6}\ \text{cups per hour}

Step-by-step explanation:

V = volume

r = rate

t = time

Use formula V=r\cdot t connecting volume, rate and time.

In your case,

V=\dfrac{1}{4} cup of water

t=1\dfrac{1}{2} hours

r is unknown.

Substitute all data into the formula:

\dfrac{1}{4}=r\cdot 1\dfrac{1}{2}\\ \\\dfrac{1}{4}=r\cdot \dfrac{3}{2}\\ \\2\cdot \dfrac{1}{4}=3r\ [\text{Multipled by 2}]\\ \\3r=\dfrac{1}{2}\\ \\r=\dfrac{\frac{1}{2}}{3}\ [\text{Divided by 3}]\\ \\r=\dfrac{1}{6}\ \text{cups per hour}
