Answer:

Na has 2 valence electrons where Cl has six.

The lewis structure would be Na and Cl side by side, but make 8 dots around the Cl atom. Two on the top, bottom and each side of the Chlorine atom.

An atom has six electrons in its valence shell. how many single covalent bonds would you expect it to form in most circumstances
Blizzard [7]
The atom will form two covalent bonds under normal circumstances.

The principle behind the number of bonds formed under normal circumstances is simple. The atoms wish to attain a stable atomic configuration by completing their valence shell by having 8 electrons (under most cases) in it. The best way to do this for the given atom is to gain 2 electrons, rather than try to lose its 6 electrons because losing so many electrons will require more energy.

When there is unequal sharing between two atoms of the electrons in a bond, which type of bond is it?
dexar [7]
Polar covalent, it is what happens when there is unequal bond between two atoms, where one has a slightly negative charge and one has a slightly positive charge.

What happens when two objects when they are brought closer together The mass of both objects decrease The mass of both objects i
Maurinko [17]

Answer:

The correct option is

The gravitational force between them increases

Explanation:

According to Newton's law of universal gravitation states that the force of attraction between two bodies is directly proportional to the product of the masses of the bodies and inversely proportional to the square of the distance of their centers from each other.

The formula for universal gravitation is given as follows;

F_{1} = F_{2} =G \times \dfrac{m_{1}  \times m_{2}}{r^{2}}

Where;

F₁, and F₂ = The gravitational forces of attraction on each mass

G = The gravitational constant

m₁ = The mass of one body

m₂ = The mass of the body

r = The distance between the centers of the two bodies

Therefore, the gravitational force of attraction on each object is inversely proportional to the as the distance between the centers of the two bodies

When the distance between the centers of the two bodies decreases, the two objects are brought closer together, the gravitational force of attraction between them increases.
