Answer:

0.38 kN

Explanation:

From newton's second law of motion,

F = m(v-u)/t........................ Equation 1

Where F = Average force exerted on the ball, m = mass of the ball, v = final velocity of the ball, u = initial velocity of the ball, t = time of contact.

Given: m = 55 g = 55/1000 = 0.055 kg, v = 102 ft/s = (102×0.3048) m/s = 31.0896 m/s, u = 0 m/s (initially at rest), t = 0.0045 s

Substitute into equation 1

F = 0.055(31.0896-0)/0.0045

F = 1.709928/0.0045

F = 379.984 N

F ≈ 0.38 kN

Answer:

The average force exerted on the ball is 0.522 kN

Explanation:

Given:

t = 0.0045 s

m = 55 g = 0.055 kg

vi = 0

v = 1.4x10²ft/s = 42.672 m/s

The average force is equal to:

F_{average} =\frac{m(v-v_{i}) }{t} =\frac{0.055*(42.672-0)}{0.0045} =521.55N=0.522kN

What are the benefits of the cool-down period following exercise?
kvv77 [185]

The benefits of the cool down period are quite important, it allows your body to slow your heart rate at a nice healthy safe pace, if you stop right away it can cause breathing, heart, and muscle problems.

A physics student looks into a microscope and observes that small particles suspended in water are moving about in an irregular
Dominik [7]

Answer:

d. the actual motion is regular, but the speeds of particles are too large to observe the regular motion

Explanation:

The speeds of the particles are very large and comparatively the average free path is very small . Therefore time taken in covering the free path ( path between two consecutive collision with medium particles ) is very small . Hence the st line path covered by particles between two collision is less likely to be visible. Hence motion appears irregular or zig-zag.

What observations can the geologist make by working outdoors instead of in a lab?
vredina [299]

Answer:

Geology is the study of the Earth that involves the process at Earth, materials of which it is made, and its history.

Geologists combine both laboratory and field data to illustrate the results of their research. Some observations that can the geologist make by working outdoors instead of in a lab are as follows:

 • Understanding and exploring the earth's surface closely using geophysical tools.
 • Collecting samples by own and make some interpretations at the same time.
 • Observation of the landscapes
 • Close observation of outcrops
