If it is shown as ∆H , then it means that a specific chemical reaction is undergoing heat in Kelvin(K). If it is shown as ∆H° , then it means that a specific chemical reaction is undergoing heat in Celsius(C⁰).

Which of the following is a correct statement about water?
BabaBlast [244]

Answer;

Hydrogen bonding causes water to be strongly cohesive.

Explanation;

  • The strong hydrogen bonds give water a high cohesiveness and, consequently, surface tension.
  • Hydrogen bonding makes ice less dense than liquid water and since ice is less dense than water, it is able to float at the surface of water.
  • Water is considered the universal solvent due to its ability to dissolve or dissociate most compounds, a property that results from its polarity, where oxygen has a higher electronegativity than hydrogen.

How many moles are there in 4.01 x 1024 atoms of zinc?
Thepotemich [5.8K]
Answer is 6.66 mol.

Explanation:

According to the Avogadro's constant, 1 mole of substance has 6.022 × 10²³ particles.

Number of Zinc atoms =  4.01 x 10²⁴
Avogadro's constant = 6.022 × 10²³ mol⁻¹
Hence,
      moles of Zinc = number of Zinc atoms / Avogadro's constant
                              = 4.01 x 10²⁴ / 6.022 × 10²³ mol⁻¹
                              = 6.66 mol

Forms of Energy
Fynjy0 [20]

Explanation:

energy: power derived from the utilization of physical or chemical resources

kenetic energy: energy which a body possesses by virtue of being in motion

potential energy: the energy possessed by a body by virtue of its position relative to others

work: forced multiples distance

mechanical energy: energy of an object due to its motion or position; the sum of an objects kenetic energy and potential energy

sound energy: movement of energy through a substance

thermal energy: refers to energy contained within a system that is responsible for its temperature

electric energy: energy (both kinetic and potential) in the changed particles of an atom that can be used to apply force and/or do work

radiant energy: energy that travels by waves or particles

nuclear energy: energy in the nucleus, or core, of an atom

Copper crystallizes in a face centered cubic lattice. if the edge of the unit cell is 351 pm what is the radius of the copper at
Troyanec [42]
Density of unit cell is mathematically expressed as
D = \frac{\text{Z  X Atomic Weight}}{\text{Avagadro's Number X a^3}}

where, Z = number of atoms/unit cell = 4 (For FCC structure)
Atomic weight of Cu = 63.5 g
a = edge length = 351 pm = 351 X 10^-10 cm
Avagadro's number = 6.023 X 10^23

∴ Density of unit cell = \frac{4X63.5}{6.023X10^2^3X(351X10^-^1^0)^3}
                                 = 9.752 g/cm3

Now, for FCC structure a = √8 r
where r = radius of Cu
∴ r = a/√8 = (351 X 10^-10)/√8 = 1.24 X 10^-8 cm = 124 pm
