A car and a motorcycle leave at noon from the same location, heading in the same direction. The average speed of the car is 30 m
jonny [76]

Answer:

Speed of motorcycle is 40 mph and speed of car is 50 mph

Explanation:

Let the peed f the motorcycle is v m /sec

According to question speed of motorcycle = 2v-30 mph

Now it is given that in two hours car is 20 miles ahead from motorcycle

Distance traveled by motorcycle in 2 hour = 2v

And distance traveled by car in two hour = 2×(2v-30)

Now according to question

2(2v-30)=2v+20

4v-60 = 2v+20

2v = 80

v = 40 mph

So speed of motorcycle is 40 mph

And speed of car = 2v-30 = 2×40-30 = 50 mph

9. From the densities below, decide whether each substance will sink or float in sea water. Sea water
tekilochka [14]

Answer:

Gasoline will float

Asphalt will sink

Cork will float

Explanation:

Simply compare the value of each object's density to that of the sea water (1.025 g/ml). If the density of the object is less than that of the water, the object will float due to the buoyance force.

Contrarily, if the density of the object is larger than that of sea water, the object will sink.

Gasoline, with density 0.66 g/ml which is less than that of sea water, will float.

Gasoline, with density 1.2 g/ml which is more than that of sea water, will sink.

Cork, with density 0.26 g/ml which is less than that of sea water, will float.

Sergio [31]

Weight is compared with the gravitational force exerted on each of them by the Earth.

What is Newton's law of gravitation?

Newton's law of gravity states that each particle having mass in the universe attracts each other particle with a force known as the gravitational force.

The gravitational force is proportional to the product of the masses of the two bodies and inversely proportional to the square of their distance.

When mass increases and distance reduces, gravity rises. Gravity also lowers when the distance between two points grows and the mass decreases.

The gravitational force is balanced by weight;

\rm F = W \\\\ G\frac{mM}{r^2} =mg

Hence, weight is compared with the gravitational force exerted on each of them by the Earth.
