Answer:

Mr. Avery will need to buy 5.4 gallons of paint.

Step-by-step explanation:

We have been given that Mr. Avery estimates that the area he needs to paint is about 1600 and  each gallon of paint will cover about 250 sq feet.

So to find the number of gallons of paint needed to paint the outside of house we will divide total area to be painted (1600 sq. ft) by area covered by gallon of paint.

\text{The number of gallon required to paint}=\frac{\text{Area of the house to be painted}}{\text{Area painted by 1 gallon of paint}}

Since Mr. Avery has 1 gallon of paint left over from the last time he painted that he can use this time, so Mr. Avery will need one gallon less. We can represent this information as:

\text{The number of gallon required to paint}=\frac{\text{Area of the house to be painted}}{\text{Area painted by 1 gallon of paint}}-1

Upon substituting our given values in above equation we will get,

\text{The number of gallon required to paint}=\frac{1600\text{square ft}}{\text{250 square ft}}-1

\text{The number of gallon required to paint}=6.4-1

\text{The number of gallon required to paint}=5.4

Therefore, Mr. Avery will need to buy 5.4 gallons of paint.

Which transformation will carry pentagon EFGHI onto itself?
wariber [46]

Answer:

D

Step-by-step explanation:

The pentagon has 5 interior angles that add up to 360. To find the angle of rotational symmetry, divide 360 by 5 (you get 72). So if you rotated the shape 72 degrees, it will map onto itself. 72 times 2 is 144, and that's rotating the shape 72 degrees twice, so it will stay the same.
