Answer:

Explanation:

The Ce metal has electronic configuration as follows

[Xe] 4f¹5d¹6s²

After losing 4 electrons , it gains noble gas configuration ,. So Ce ⁺⁴ is stable.

Eu  has electronic configuration as follows

[ Xe ] 4 f ⁷6s²

[ Xe ] 4 f ⁷

Its outermost orbit contains 2 electrons so  Eu²⁺ is stable. Its +3 oxidation state is also stable.

Ce⁺²

Propane, the gas used in barbeque grills, is made of carbon and hydrogen. Will the atoms that make up propane form covalent bond
Masteriza [31]
Hydrocarbons are molecules that contain only carbon and hydrogen. Due to carbon's unique bonding patterns, hydrocarbons can have single, double, or triple bonds between the carbon atoms. The names of hydrocarbons with single bonds end in "-ane," those with double bonds end in "-ene," and those with triple bonds end in "-yne". The bonding of hydrocarbons allows them to form rings or chains.

Lawrencium-262 has a half-life of 4 hr. How much of a 40 mg sample remains after 12 hours?
CaHeK987 [17]

Answer:

5 mg

Explanation:

If one half life is 4 hours, then 3 half lives is 12 hours.

This means that the sample will decay to 1/8 of its original amount.

So, the answer is 40(1/8) = 5 mg.
