A scientist observes hot water erupting from a vent in the Earth. What most likely caused the water to rise and erupt from the ve
Scrat [10]

Answer/Explanation:

A geyser is hot water erupting from a vent in the earth. Geysers are somewhat rare and occur in certain parts of the earth. Underneath, there are hidden chambers that provide constant flows of water. Sometimes when the tectonic plate of the earth move, it leaves gaps in between the hot earth's inner core and the ground. The magma inside is able to heat up the water from the earth. Since hot particle tend to rise, the water explodes out of the vent with such power from the heat.

  1. The grass is green.
  2. The wood on the house is brown.
  3. The house is solid.
  4. The stone on the house is dark grey.
  5. The trees are green.
  6. The glass in the windows is clear and colourless.

Chemical Properties:

  1. The wood is flammable.
  2. The stone is not flammable.

Explanation:

Physical properties are properties that don't require a chemical reaction to be measured, for example the colour. Chemical properties are properties that are observed when a substance undergoes a chemical reaction, for example flammability.

Molecular compounds of low molecular weight tend to be gases at room temperature. Which of the following is most likely not a ga
Sindrei [870]

Answer: Option (a) is the correct answer.

Explanation:

Sodium bromide (NaBr) is an ionic salt as it is formed by transfer of an electron from sodium to bromine atom.

Whereas CO_{2}, HCN, N_{2} and NH_{3} are all covalent compounds. And, all of them exists as a gas at room temperature.

Also according to rate of diffusion law, rate of diffusion is inversely proportional to square root of molecular weight of gas.

Mathematically,  Rate of diffusion = \frac{1}{\sqrt{M}}

Out of the given options NaBr has the highest molecular weight which is 102.894 g/mol.

Thus, we can conclude that NaBr is most likely not a gas at room temperature.
