Answer:

a. Ff = 74.03N

b. a = 2.23 m/s^2

c. v = 9.73 m/s

Explanation:

a. For an incline system, the force of kinetic friction is given by tte following formula:

F_f= \mu_k Ncos\theta=\mu_kMgcos\theta         (1)

Ff: friction force

μk: kinetic friction = 0.123

N: normal force

θ: angle of the incline = 20.1°

M: mass of the student = 65.4 kg

g: gravitational acceleration = 9.8 m/s^2

You replace the values of the parameters in the equation (1):

F_f=(0.123)(65.4kg)(9.8m/s^2)cos(20.1\°)=74.03N

The kinetic friction force is 74.03N

b. The acceleration of the student is given by the Newton second law:

W-F_f=Mgsin\theta-F_f=Ma         (2)

You solve the previous equation for a:

a=\frac{Mgsin\theta-F_f}{M}\\\\a=\frac{(65.4kg)(9.8m/s^2)sin(20.1\°)-74.03N}{65.4kg}=2.23\frac{m}{s^2}

The acceleration of the student, in his trajectory is 2.23m/s^2

c. The speed of the student, at the bottom of the trajectory, can be calculated by taking into account that the net work is equal to the change in the kinetic energy:

W_n=\Delta K\\\\(W-F_f)d=\frac{1}{2}M(v^2-v_o^2)       (3)

v: final speed = ?

vo: initial speed  = 0 m/s

d: distance traveled by the student  = 21.2m

Then, you replace the values of the parameters in the equation (3) and solve for v:

((65.4kg)(9.8m/s^2)sin(20.1\°)-74.03N)(21.2m)=\frac{1}{2}(65.4kg)v^2\\\\v=9.73\frac{m}{s}

THe speed of the student at the bottom of the slide is 9.73 m/s

Im confused on number one
mr Goodwill [35]

Explanation:

v=?, u=0, a=?, S=22m.

Using the formula, S=ut+½at²

22={0×5}+(½.a.5²)

22=½.a.5²

a=44/25 = 1.76m/s².

Therefore, net force = work done = ma = 48×1.76 = 84.48N.

therefore, power = work done/time = 84.48/5 = 16.896W.

hope this helps you.

zhenek [66]

Answer:

Acceleration of the bullet while moving into the clay is -312500 ms⁻²

Explanation:

Given data

Initial velocity (v₁) = 250 m/s                 Final velocity (v₂) = 0 m/s

Distance (s)= 0.1 m                            acceleration (a) = ?

Using 3rd equation of motion

                  2as = v₂²- v₁²

       2 × a × 0.1 = 0² - 250²

            0.2 × a = -62500

                      a = -62500/0.2

                     a = -312500 m/s²

Here negative sign indicate that bullet slow down and it is deceleration i.e negative acceleration.

A 5.5 kg box is pushed across the lunch table. The acceleration of the box is 4.2 m/s2. What was the net force applied to the bo
Bezzdna [24]
Use this numbers that you are given and plug them into the formule for net force

Net force= m*a (mass times acceleration)

Therefore the net force is equal to (5.5 kg)*(4.2 m/s^2)= 23.1 N

Answer: Net force= 23.1 N

A machine uses 1000 J of electric energy to raise a heavy mass, increasing its potential energy by 300 J. What is the efficiency
-Dominant- [34]

Answer:

Efficiency of this process is 30 %.

Explanation:

It is given that,

Electric energy used by the machine, W_{in}=1000\ J

The potential energy of the machine is increased, W_{out}=300\ J

The efficiency of this machine is given by :

\eta=\dfrac{W_{out}}{W_{in}}\times 100

\eta=\dfrac{300}{1000}\times 100

eta=30\%

So, the efficiency of this process is 30 %. Hence, this is the required solution.
