`suppose you have a fixed container containing 19.08 grams of one of the diatomic (elemental) gases. If the container volume is

3.82 l, and the pressure is 4.78 atm, and the temperature is 100°c, which gas is it? (r = 0.0821 l∙atm/mol∙k)

solution:

First we calculate the number of mole of gas as follows:

PV = n RT

Here temperature; T= 100°C or 373 K

n = PV/ RT

= 4.78 atm * 3.82 L / 0.0821 L ∙ atm / mol ∙ K * 373 K

= 0.596 Moles

Now determine the molar mass of gas as follows:

Number of moles = amount in g/ molar mass

Molar mass = 19.08 grams / 0.596 Moles

= 32.013 g/ mole

This the molar mass of O2 hence the gas is oxygen

Why cant chemical changes be reversed
kotykmax [81]

Answer:

Throughout the explanation section, the reason behind the given statement is described.

Explanation:

  • The chemicals thus produced were indeed opposite or separate from the reaction mixture, this same reaction wouldn’t change when it's more balanced than some of the reactants.
  • Another reason is that the development of advanced organisms, as well as chemical alterations, is irreversible throughout nature cant undo the chemical modifications.

The radioactivity of U-235 is of low intensity. Why then were the people of Hiroshima exposed to high intensity radiation in the
Marina86 [1]

Answer:

Explanation:

What occurred then is as a result of nuclear fission. This occurs as the Uranium-235 split into two smaller nuclei while releasing high energy neutrons. These neutrons bombard existing U-235 in the atmosphere and this reaction continue in a spontaneous manner until a chain reaction is formed of U-235, whose fall out fills the environment. This process was what led to people been exposed to high intensity radiation in the days and months after the atomic bomb was dropped.
