Two vessels are labeled A and B. Bessel A contains NH3 gas at 68 C, and vessel B contains Ne gas at the same temperature. If the

average kinetic energy of NH3 is 7.1 x 10^-21 J / molecule at 70 C, calculate the root-mean-square speed of Ne atoms in m/s.
My main problem is in converting the average kinetic energy of NH3 at 70 C to average kinetic energy of NH3 at 68 C?

Answer:

Root mean square speed = 649.205m/s

Explanation:

The root mean square speed shows the connection between the average kinetic energy of molecules and the gas temperature. it is derived from the ideal gas equation and the average kinetic energy. Vrms = square root ( 3RT/M).

The detailed explanation is as shown in the attachment

Components of crude oil can be separated through a process called _____.
Drupady [299]

Answer:

Components of crude oil can be separated through a process called fractional distillation.

Explanation:

Fractional distillation can be described as a method of distillation in which a liquid mixture is separated based on the different boiling points of the components present in the mixture. The components of crude oil have different boiling temperatures hence, they can be separated by the process of fractional distillation.

The fractionating column has high temperatures at the bottom so components with high temperatures are separated at the bottom. The upper columns have lower temperatures. Components with lower boiling temperatures get separated at the upper columns.

Determine which equations you would use to solve the following problem: Calculate the amount of heat needed to change 20.0 g of
Inessa [10]

Answer:

Q = 4019.4 J

Explanation:

Given data:

Mass of ice = 20.0 g

Initial temperature = -10°C

Final temperature = 89.0°C

Amount of heat required = ?

Solution:

specific heat capacity of ice is 2.03 J/g.°C

Formula:

Q = m.c. ΔT

Q = amount of heat absorbed or released

m = mass of given substance

c = specific heat capacity of substance

ΔT = change in temperature

ΔT = T2 - T1

ΔT = 89.0°C - (-10°C)

ΔT = 99°C

Q = 20.0 g ×2.03 J/g.°C × 99°C

Q = 4019.4 J

What will be the amount of sugar in milligrams if the size of the milk chocolate bar is reduced from 11.630 g to 4.000 g ?
Dima020 [189]

The amount of sugar is 2621 mg

Why?

The complete question is:

A 12.630 g milk chocolate bar is found to contain 8.315 g of sugar.

Part B. What will be the amount of sugar in milligrams if the size of the milk chocolate bar is reduced from 12.630 g to 4.000 g ?

To find the answer we have to determine first the amount of sugar in milligrams per gram of chocolate bar. We can find that by applying the following conversion factor:

\frac{8.315 gSugar}{12.630 g Chocolate}*\frac{1000mg}{1g}=658.35mgSugar/gChocolate

Now, we have to determine the amount of sugar in milligrams if we had a chocolate bar with 4.000 g:

4.000gChocolate*\frac{658.35mgSugar}{1gChocolate}=2621mgSugar

Have a nice day!
