If an airplane is moving at a constant speed of 500 miles per hour in a straight line is it accelerating?

You just said "constant speed", and "straight line" which means constant direction.

"Acceleration" means any change of speed or direction of motion. Since neither of those is changing, no acceleration is happening.

No. It’s moving at a constant speed (speed is not changing) in a straight line (same direction so velocity is not changing) so it is not accelerating. Acceleration only occurs if there’s a change in speed/velocity.

Suppose that the Mars orbiter was to have established orbit at 155 km and that one group of engineers specified this distance as
MAXImum [283]

Answer:

108 km

Explanation:

The conversion factor between meters and feet is

1 m = 3.28 ft

So the second altitude, written in feet, can be rewritten in meters as

h_2 = 1.55 \cdot 10^5 ft \cdot \frac{1}{3.28 ft/m}=4.7\cdot 10^4 m

or in kilometers,

h_2 = 47 km

the first altitude in kilometers is

h_1 = 155 km

so the difference between the two altitudes is

\Delta h = 155 km - 47 km = 108 km

Why is specific heat important
Ad libitum [116K]
Hey!!

here is your answer >>>

Specific heat is the amount of heat required to raise the temperature of a unit substance!. The most common example!. The specific heat of water is 1 !. And, lot of plays and animals live under the water and if the specific heat of the water would be low, then the aquatic organisms would die, but the specific heat is high and it is hard for the sun to increase the temperature!.

Hope my answer helps!

What would be a disadvantage of asexual reproduction for an organism
Tems11 [23]
A negative mutation can make asexually produced organisms susceptible to disease and can destroy large numbers of offspring. Some methods of asexual reproduction produce offspring that are close together and compete for food and space. Unfavourable conditions such as extreme temperatures can wipe out entire colonies.

What formula relates mass volume and density?
katovenus [111]

The formula that relates the 3 variables, namely: mass, volume, and density is: Density = mass / volume.

Let us identify each variable:

Density - more accurately called the volumetric mass density of a substance is its mass per unit volume. It is a key concept that examines how materials communicate in a lot of things, i.e weather, material sciences, engineering, and other fields of science.

Mass – defined as a property of a physical body in Physics, and when a net force is applied, it results to the measure of a specific object’s resistance to acceleration.

Volume - contained or occupied by the space of a substance or shape (either by a solid, liquid, gas or plasma state)

At time t = 0 s, an object is observed at x = 0 m; and its position along the x-axis follows this expression: x = –4t + t2, wher
Anit [1.1K]

Answer:

The object displacement is 0 meters.

Explanation:

Because the expression for the object position as function of time is:

x(t)= -4t + t^2

At t= 3.0=t2 seconds the x-position of the object is:

x(3.0)= -4(3.0) + (3.0)^2

x(3.0s)=-3 m

and at t=1.0=t1 seconds the x-position of the objects is:

x(1.0)= -4(1.0) + (1.0)^2

x(1.0s)=-3m

The total displacement (\Delta x) of the object between t2 and t1 is the difference between x(3.0s) and x(1.0s):

\Delta x= x(3.0)-x(1.0)=-3.0-(-3.0)

\Delta x=0m

The displacement of the object is zero!!!
