Heat transfer to a beaker on a hot plate is an example of conduction.

Explanation:

Conduction is a process where heat is transferred from one particle to another particle. Conduction is mainly possible in case of solids.In case of solids the atoms as well as the molecules are tightly packed through which the kinetic energy can easily pass. Conduction takes place when both the objects are touching each other. But in case of liquids molecules are loosely packed as a result convection takes place.

If 0.2 g of nitrobenzene are added to 10.9 g of naphthalene, calculate the molality of the solution. (given: molar mass of nitro
In-s [12.5K]

Molality is defined as 1 mole of a solute in 1 kg of solvent.

Molality=

\frac{Number of moles of solute}{Mass of solvent in kg}

Number of moles of solute, n=

\frac{Given mass of the substance}{Molar mass of the substance}

Given mass of the nitrobenzene=0.2 g

Molar mass of the substance= 123.06 g mol⁻¹

Number of moles of nitrobenzene,

n= \frac{0.2 }{123.06}

Number of moles of nitrobenzene, n= 0.0016  mol

Mass of 10.9 g of naphthalene in kg=0.0109

Molality= \frac{0.0016}{0.0109 }

Molality= 0.146 m

The chemical formula of ordinary sugar is C12H22O11. Calculate the mass of 7.35 mol of sugar.
ch4aika [34]

First, you need to find the mass of 1 mol of sugar. Mass, or molar mass, can simply be found by adding the masses of the individual elements. These are given to you on the periodic table.

C_{12}H_{22}O_{11}

12 x 12.011 grams (molar mass of Carbon) = 144.132 g

22 x 1.008 grams (molar mass of Hydrogen) = 22.176 g

11 x 15.999 grams (molar mass of Oxygen) = 175.989 g

Add all of the pieces together.

144.132 g + 22.176 g + 175.989 g = 342.297 grams

So, if one mole has 342.297 grams, then 7.35 of that amount will be your answer.

342.297 g/mol x 7.35 mol =  2,515.88 grams
