two punds of water vapor at 30 psia fill the 4ft3 left chmaber of a partitioned system. The right chmaber has twice the volume o

f the left and is initially evacuated. Detrmine the pressure of water after the paertiion has been removed nd enough heat has been transfered so that the temperature of the water is 40F.

Answer:

pressure of water will be 49.7 atm

Explanation:

given data

pressure = 30 psi = 2.04 atm

water = 2 pound = 907.18

mole of water vapor = 907.19 /2 = 50.4 mole

volume = 4 ft³ = 113.2 L

temperature = 40 F = 277.59 K

to find out

pressure of water

solution

we will apply here ideal gas condition

that is

PV = nRT  .......................1

put here all value and here R = 0.0821 , T temperature and V volume and P pressure and n is no of mole

and we get here temperature

PV = nRT

2.04 × 113.2 = 50.4×0.0821×T

solve it and we get

T = 55.8 K

so we have given right chamber has twice the volume of the left chamber i.e

volume = twice of volume + volume

volume = 2(113.2) + 113.2

volume = 339.6 L

so from equation 1 pressure will be

PV = nRT

P(339.6) = 50.4 × ( 0.0821) × (277.59)

P = 3.3822 atm = 49.7 atm

so pressure of water will be 49.7 atm

4. A car accelerates, from rest, at 2.4 m/s?. How fast is the car traveling
pantera1 [17]

Answer:

19.2m/s

Explanation:

Assuming that 2.4m/s^2 was the acceleration and not a typo, we can use the equation v=at, where v=velocity, a=acceleration, and t=time,

plug in known varibles,

v=2.4*8

v=19.2m/s

A student hangs a weight on a newtonmeter. The energy currently stored in the spring in the newton meter is 0.045N. The student
castortr0y [4]

Answer:

5x10^-3

Explanation:

Hooke's Law states that the force needed to compress or extend a spring is directly proportional to the distance you stretch it.

Hooke's Law can be represented as

<h3> F = kx, </h3>

<em>where F is the force </em>

<em>            k is the spring constant</em>

<em>            x is the extension of the material </em>

<em />

Plug values in the equation

Step 1 find the original extension

0.045 = (400)x

x = 1.125x 10^-4 m d

Step 2 find the new extension

0.045+2 = 400(x)

2.045 = 400x

x = 5.1125x10^-3

Step 3 subtract the new extension with original

Total extension of the spring =  5.1125x10^-3 - 1.125x 10^-4 m = 5x10^-3

What is the formula to calculate the thickness of a test tube?
Maslowich

Answer:

Having the inside dimensions (ID) and the outside dimensions (OD) will allow you to figure out the wall thickness on tubing. You would need to subtract the ID from the OD and then divide by two. This number is the wall thickness.

It is found that the most probable speed of molecules in a gas at equilibrium temperature
kaheart [24]

Answer:

\frac{T_2}{T_1} = 1

Explanation:

The root mean square velocity of the gas at an equilibrium temperature is given by the following formula:

v = \sqrt{\frac{3RT}{M} }

where,

v = root mean square velocity of molecules:

R = Universal Gas Constant

T = Equilibrium Temperature

M = Molecular Mass of the Gas

Therefore,

For T = T₁ :

v = \sqrt{\frac{3RT_1}{M} }

For T = T₂ :

v = \sqrt{\frac{3RT_2}{M} }

Since both speeds are given to be equal. Therefore, comparing both equations, we get:

\sqrt{\frac{3RT_1}{M} }=\sqrt{\frac{3RT_2}{M} }\\\\\frac{T_2}{T_1} = 1
