Ask Your Teacher Suppose the roller coaster below(h1 = 36 m, h2 = 13 m, h3 = 30) passes point A with a speed of 1.00 m/s. If the

average force of friction is equal to one fifth of its weight, with what speed will it reach point B? The distance traveled is 60.0 m.

Answer:

The answer to the question is

The roller coaster will reach point B with a speed of 14.72 m/s

Explanation:

Considering both kinetic energy KE = 1/2×m×v² and potential energy PE = m×g×h

Where m = mass

g = acceleration due to gravity = 9.81 m/s²

h = starting height of the roller coaster

we have the given variables

h₁ = 36 m,

h₂ = 13 m,

h₃ = 30 m

v₁ = 1.00 m/s

Total energy at point 1 = 0.5·m·v₁² + m·g·h₁

= 0.5 m×1² + m×9.81×36

=353.66·m

Total energy at point 2 = 0.5·m·v₂² + m·g·h₂

= 0.5×m×v₂² + 9.81 × 13 × m = 0.5·m·v₂² + 127.53·m

The total energy at 1 and 2 are not equal due to the frictional force which must be considered

Total energy at point 2 = Total energy at point 1 + work done against friction

Friction work = F×d×cosθ = (\frac{1}{5} × mg)×60×cos 180 = -117.72m

0.5·m·v₂² + 127.53·m = 353.66·m -117.72m

0.5·m·v₂² = 108.41×m

v₂² = 216.82

v₂  =  14.72 m/s

The roller coaster will reach point B with a speed of 14.72 m/s

Find the dimension of density
ludmilkaskok [199]

Explanation:

The formula for density is d = M/V, where d is density, M is mass, and V is volume. Density is commonly expressed in units of grams per cubic centimetre. For example, the density of water is 1 gram per cubic centimetre, and Earth's density is 5.51 grams per cubic centimetre.

Why are the surface features of the moon essentially unaltered since youth
zmey [24]

Because there is no wind, rain, snow, sleet, or people to wear them down,
and no rivers, streams, or floods to cover them over.

A home uses ten 100-watt lightbulbs for five hours per day. Approximately how many kilowatt-hours of electrical energy are consu
timurjin [86]

The electrical energy consumed in one year by using the light bulbs is 8,760 kWh.

The given parameters:

  • Number of light bulbs = 10
  • Power consumed by each bulb = 100 W
  • Time of energy consumption, t = 1 year

<h3>What is electrical energy?</h3>

This is the electric power consumed or dissipated at a given period of time.

The  electrical energy consumed in one year by using the light bulbs is calculated as

E = Pt

E = (100 \times 10) \times (1 \ yr \times \frac{8760 \ hrs}{1 \ yr} )= 8,760,000 \ W att-hours\\\\&#10;E = \frac{8,760,000 }{1000} = 8,760 \ kWh

Thus, the electrical energy consumed in one year by using the light bulbs is 8,760 kWh.
