  1. <u>The mass</u> of the heated material (kg), as the water in your problem
  2. <u>The specific heat capacity</u> of the material (J/kg.K), it is a specific quantity for each material.
  3. The change in the temperature according to the heat process (K)

Then, using the relation of heat energy

E=mc ΔT

Note that: the <u>heat capacity</u> is the multiplication of the mass and the specific heat capacity
