Asexual reproduction is not a source of genetic variation.

Further Explanation:

A given population can contain different individual with different sequences in DNA. This difference in DNA sequences between the individuals of the same population is known as genetic variation. Genetic variation can occur both in somatic cells as well as germ cells. The major reasons for variations can be mutations and recombination.

The alteration of DNA sequence which can be caused due to error during replication is known as mutation. Mutations can be either point mutation or frameshift mutation. The mixture of genetic material that a person gets from his family is one major source of genetic variation which is termed as the recombination. Sexual reproduction leads to genetic variation. The offspring arising from a single organism without the involvement of fusion of gametes is known as asexual reproduction. There is no chance of genetic variation because there is no chance of recombination. This type of reproduction is usually common and prokaryotes. The types of asexual reproduction are; fission, budding, vegetative propagation, spore formation, fragmentation, parthenogenesis, apomixis and nucellar embryony etc.

There are some organisms which follow both the asexual and sexual reproduction. This ability e is known as heterogamy. Depending upon the conditions this alteration mainly in the rotifer species.

Answer:

D. Asexual reproduction

Explanation:

In the process of asexual reproduction a new organism is produced from a single parent organism. So the new offspring inherits all the genetic traits of a single parent, there is no recombination of genetic traits. However, in sexual reproduction there is recombination of genetic traits so the offspring shows genetic variation.

Butadiene c4h6 reacts with itself at 250 degrees celcius to form a dimer with the formula c8h12. The reaction is second order in
goldfiish [28.3K]

Answer:

Rate = k * [C₄H₆]²

Explanation:

It is possible to write the reaction as:

 • 2C₄H₆ → C₈H₁₂

The differential rate law for a simple second order reaction of the type 2A → B is:

 • Rate = k * [A]²

With the above information in mind, the rate law for the reaction of butadiene would be:

 • Rate = k * [C₄H₆]²
