A cart is pulled by horizontal force such that it moves with constant velocity

So here since velocity is constant we can say that its acceleration will be ZERO

now here for zero acceleration we can say

F_{net} = 0

So here we will have

F_{net} = F_{ap} - F_f = 0

here we know that

F_f = 10 N

so we will have

F_{ap} - 10 = 0

F_{ap} = 10 N

so here applied force on handle will be

<em>b. 10 N</em>

002 10.0 points note: report your answer in joules here. a proton and an antiproton, both at rest with respect to one another, m
Ulleksa [173]
The mass of the proton is:
m_p = 1.67 \cdot 10^{-27} kg
and the mass of the antiproton is exactly the same, so the total mass of the two particles is 2m_p.

In the annihilation, all the mass of the two particles is converted into energy, and the amount of this energy is given by Einstein's equivalence between mass and energy:
E=Mc^2
where M is the mass converted into energy and c is the speed of light. In this example, M=2m_p, therefore the energy released is
E=2m_p c^2 = 2 (1.67 \cdot 10^{-27} kg)(3\cdot 10^8 m/s)^2=3 \cdot 10^{-10}J

The answer to this is the plate tectonics theory.

The earth's lithosphere is divided into large, moving sections which are called the tectonics plates.

Hope this helped :)

A 0.58 kg mass is moving horizontally with a speed of 6.0 m/s when it strikes a vertical wall. The mass rebounds with a speed of
Sunny_sXe [5.5K]

Answer:

5.8\; {\rm kg\cdot m \cdot s^{-1}}.

Explanation:

If the mass of an object is m and the velocity of that object is v, the linear momentum of that object would be m\, v.

Assume that the initial velocity of the mass is positive (6.0\; {\rm m\cdot s^{-1}}.) However, the direction of the velocity is reversed after the impact. Thus, the sign of the new velocity of the object would be negative- the opposite of that of the initial velocity. The new velocity would be (-4.0\; {\rm m\cdot s^{-1}}).

Thus, the change in the velocity of the mass would be:

\begin{aligned}& (\text{Change in Velocity}) \\ =\; & (\text{Final Velocity}) - (\text{Initial Velocity}) \\ =\; & (-4.0\; {\rm m\cdot s^{-1}}) - (6.0\; {\rm m\cdot s^{-1}}) \\ =\; & (-10\; {\rm m\cdot s^{-1})\end{aligned}.

The change in the linear momentum of the mass would be:

\begin{aligned} & \text{change in momentum} \\ =\; & (\text{mass}) \times (\text{change in velocity}) \\ =\; & 0.58\; {\rm kg} \times (-10\; {\rm m\cdot s^{-1}}) \\  =\; & (-5.8\; {\rm kg \cdot m \cdot s^{-1}})\end{aligned}.

Thus, the magnitude of the change of the linear momentum would be 5.8\; {\rm kg \cdot m \cdot s^{-1}}.
