If we use a 10cm converging lens instead of a 5cm converging lens, would the first point at which the image focuses (as you slid

e away from the lamp) be closer to or farther from the lamp than it was for the 5cm lens?

Answer:

first point at which the image focuses will be closer

Explanation:

given data

converging lens = 10 cm

converging lens = 5 cm

lens = 5 cm

to find out

would the first point at which the image focuses be closer or farther

solution

we apply here lens formula that is

1/f = 1/u + 1/v   ......................1

so here

v = f × u / u - f

so here for f = 10 cm  v will be

v = 10u / u-10      ..........................2

and

for f = 5 cm v will be

v = 5u / u-5       .     ........................3

now if we compare equation 2 and 3 we can say that

v for f = 5 cm is greater than v for f = 10 cm

so here first point at which the image focuses will be closer

A Ping-Pong ball has a mass of 2.3 g and a terminal speed of 9.4 m/s. The drag force is of the form bv^2 What is the value of b?
julia-pushkina [17]
Drag Force = bv^2 = ma; a = g = 9.81 m/s^2

b = mg/v^2 = (0.0023×9.81)/(9.4^2)

b = 0.000255

An airplane cruises at 900 km/h relative to the air. It is flying from Denver, Colorado, due west to Reno, Nevada, a distance of
Ulleksa [173]

Answer:

26.5 minutes

Explanation:

When the airplane is flying due West from Denver to Reno, the due-East wind with speed of 80km/h would reduce the ground speed by 80 km/h.

Its Denver to Reno ground speed is 900 - 80 = 720 km/h

The time it takes to cover 1200km at this speed is 1200 / 720 = 1.67 hours

On the other hand, when it returns from Reno to Denver in the due-East direction, the due-East wind with speed of 80km/h would add to the ground speed by 80 km/h

Its Reno to Denver ground speed is 900 + 80 = 980 km/h

The time it takes to cover 1200 km at this speed is 1200 / 980 = 1.22 hours

The difference it flight time would be 1.67 - 1.22 = 0.44 hours or 26.5 minutes

A box of paper is labeled 24lb paper. This means that 500 sheets (counted number) of paper size 17in x 22in weighs 24 pounds (Th
Tresset [83]

Answer:

The mass of a single paper  is approximately 0.047 lb/paper which in SI Units is approximately 21.77  g/paper

Explanation:

The given information on the size and the weight of paper are;

The mass of a box of 500 sheets of paper = 24 lb

The number of sheets in the paper = 500 sheets

The dimensions of the paper = 17 in. × 22 in., which is equivalent to  43.18 cm × 55.88 cm

The mass of a single paper = The mass of the box of paper/(The number of sheets of paper present in the box)

The mass of a single paper = 24 lb/500 = 0.047 lb/paper

Given that 1 lb = 453.6 g, we have;

0.047 lb/paper = 0.047 lb/paper×453.6 g/(lb) = 21.77  g/paper

The mass of a single paper  = 0.047 lb/paper = 21.77  g/paper.

Today chemistry is based on the law ofwhat is the matter
melisa1 [442]

Answer:

One scientific law that provides the foundation for understanding in chemistry is the law of conservation of matter. It states that in any given system that is closed to the transfer of matter (in and out), the amount of matter in the system stays constant.
